Hate to be t..."he has done pretty good."

Hate to be the bearer of bad news...but "pretty good" in a NC Pro-Am league doesn't translate to playing in the NBA. I think he had 6 or 8 turnovers in one game recently. I had hopes for Courtney, but if he doesn't step up, he'll be overseas...if that. Not saying he can't, but now is the time.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7925605977955920392.post-21090688789427147642009-07-20T21:14:05.876-04:002009-07-20T21:14:05.876-04:00Not to be a downer, but...

If he knew how to simply POSITION himself correctly, without over commiting and running past the play, then he could have conserved much of that wasted energy and possibly given himself a better chance to become a much more effective BB player on both ends of the court.

The failure to recognize that, and not seeing any noticeable improvement in that defensive flaw over the years, is one the major disapointments I have had with this coaching staff to date.

Hopefully they are studying game films as we speak.redfredhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17617956589718862241noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7925605977955920392.post-31392854944540776372009-07-20T12:23:58.600-04:002009-07-20T12:23:58.600-04:00^ I 100% agree with that comparison. I think Fells could surely find a role with a team, even if it's simply as a defensive stopper. It's rare to find a player with his length and athleticism like Larry Brown talked about in an interview we posted on here a few weeks ago.Wolfpack Hoopshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07952147309857745596noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7925605977955920392.post-2697383978569439072009-07-20T12:11:59.947-04:002009-07-20T12:11:59.947-04:00Courtney's biggest strength is his defense and...Courtney's biggest strength is his defense and could develop into a Bruce Bowen type. Except for a few times in his 4 year career, minus health problems, he held his own and shut down many of the best scorers. Combine defense with a streaky shooter that has an elevated jump shot plus able to jam with the best of them and you got a legit NBAer. Good luck Courtney!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7925605977955920392.post-40251258565228560552009-07-20T11:37:03.849-04:002009-07-20T11:37:03.849-04:00I don't think Courtney Fells will play in the ...I don't think Courtney Fells will play in the NBA this year. I think his inconsistency is an issue that he has to get under control to contend at the higher level. He didn't seem to have it with us and I don't see him all of the sudden getting it, now that he's moved on. To me, he just seems like a player that had tons of potential but never really got the handle on things. I hope he does well but that's just my personal feeling. He may seem gypsy time in the NBA but he’ll probably fair better over sea’s and in lower tier level of play.Afterglowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00162654720812118746noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7925605977955920392.post-30369692817291121132009-07-20T09:58:21.022-04:002009-07-20T09:58:21.022-04:00This was a recap of the Las Vegas Summer League. ...This was a recap of the Las Vegas Summer League. I thought he had the best opportunity to make it to the pros and from what I have read, he doesn't seem to be on a summer league roster. Puzzling to me.
