Like Jeff said....he was the head trainer in Reynolds back when all of the locker rooms were there (till '04 or so) I know he helped with the bball team while Herb was here. Maybe he stayed with the ladies in Reynolds when the guys moved to W-Brown? Either way, it has to be the players wanting to get better and stronger. Coach Wright is great, but he isnt going to force them to go the extra mile.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7925605977955920392.post-17815259205983210182009-08-17T10:57:33.666-04:002009-08-17T10:57:33.666-04:00"Also, hope to see better late game defense a..."Also, hope to see better late game defense as a result."

Exactly Dof87. Just that would have made a big difference in some outcomes last season. Things seem to be slowly coming together for Coach Lowe. There were long first half stretches last season when we were offensively tearing up the other team, so the system works and with depth and conditioning and players more athletically suited to the style, we can keep it going for the entire game. Also, hope to see better late game defense as a result.Dof87noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7925605977955920392.post-35317877096476929022009-08-17T09:36:49.774-04:002009-08-17T09:36:49.774-04:00Count me in as one who likes the change. In '83 we had guys that played terribly hard for the full 40 minutes - if he can up our endurance and strength to accomplish only that again then I'm happy. When your school goes three DECADES with little or no success (depending on how you look at it), it's easy for the coaches, players, and even fans to start expecting mediocrity. That's downright dangerous. I like the move, even if it only makes an infinitely small impact.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16033153990166952724noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7925605977955920392.post-33491732168438721922009-08-16T21:23:06.089-04:002009-08-16T21:23:06.089-04:00Eric

Not only did our guys run out of gas late in the game, but visually they lacked the physique of the players on teams that made deep tourney runs. Held neutral in the beginning of the 2nd half and generally gave up leads in the last 12 minutes.

Also our team looked physically less imposing than our competition.

This shows me Lowe is good at seeing the "weaknesses" he needs to improve and is a very good sign that we can expect continuous improvement.

Anyone know who was replaced?
