Barring injury, there is 0.000000% chance that John Wall is not a 1 and done. That is the exact reason why he went to play for UK (see, D. Rose).

CJ Leslie may choose UK b/c he also has aspirations of being 1 and done and knows that playing in Cal's system will show off his skills, in the national spotlight, and with other elite players.

The point is that playing with John Wall is absolutely not on his mind. CJ has to decide whether playing for coach Lowe or Cal and playing with Harrow or Bledsoe is going to be best for his NBA prospects.

There are other factors like being close to home, comfort with the coaches, etc. But the ones discussed above will be what CJ will ultimately use to make his decision.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02264491747246180863noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7925605977955920392.post-57744613137800770292009-10-29T11:29:40.853-04:002009-10-29T11:29:40.853-04:00^I doubt CJ is thinking about that too much, since...^I doubt CJ is thinking about that too much, since Wall will more-than-likely be a one-and-doneUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05286817658520045700noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7925605977955920392.post-84772460922442778982009-10-29T11:15:45.388-04:002009-10-29T11:15:45.388-04:00^^^"I know that Harrow and CJ have been chumm...^^^"I know that Harrow and CJ have been chummy recently, but he CJ still remembers what it was like to play with Wall, too."

What was their record together at WOG last year? It is tough for me to get a good idea of where he fits in right now because most of his playing time was either coming off a two year layoff or an ACL tear. In the time I have seen him play I have not been impressed with his ability to handle the press. He did ok in the half court sets before his injury. His shooting seemed to be coming around, but was that an aberration? Tough to say right now.Alum02noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7925605977955920392.post-44797298999050733652009-10-28T14:56:19.395-04:002009-10-28T14:56:19.395-04:00Maybe CJ Leslie wants to turn Kentucky down in per...Maybe CJ Leslie wants to turn Kentucky down in person? ;)TruthBKnown Returnshttp://www.mindspring.com/~bradleyb123noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7925605977955920392.post-7939198373808273942009-10-28T14:09:42.654-04:002009-10-28T14:09:42.654-04:00I personally think Farnold should go back to start...I personally think Farnold should go back to starting at the PG. Totally agree with Alum, that saying Farnold can score with the best of them on the wing is quite the overstatement.

I don't think I've ever seen him hit a jumpshot that wasn't a set-shot. Farnold is a solid penetrator, a good guy to lead the break, and good spot-up shooter on kick-outs. He doesn't create his own shot.

Farnold at the 1 with Javi backing him up (or vice-versa) gives us solid PG play and ability to knock down the open shot. CJW, JT, and Wood rotating at the 2 & 3 give us shooting, decent ballhandling and size (none of those 3 are as clumsy with the ball as Gavin or Fells so there shouldn't be as much turnover issues as years past). And then the rotation of Tracy, Horner, Painter, JV, and Howell up front (but only 4 out of those 5 should actually get minutes, depending on who steps up as the season progresses). Then I think Julius Mays plays into the rotation with some spot minutes when we want to have 2 PGs in the backcourt. Maybe Josh Davis steals some minutes from Wood or JT throughout the season.

The point is that the concept of playing Farnold at the 2 is going to have the opposite effect than some of you have been predicting, which is the inability to score. I think Sidney will figure that out during the early part of our schedule and tighten up the rotation as we see how this group stacks up against opponents.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02264491747246180863noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7925605977955920392.post-68204042700884677402009-10-28T13:59:35.234-04:002009-10-28T13:59:35.234-04:00^ Maryland???^ Maryland???Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7925605977955920392.post-14949970368862827352009-10-28T13:47:56.682-04:002009-10-28T13:47:56.682-04:00I certainly wouldn't say that Farnold can scor...I certainly wouldn't say that Farnold can score the ball with the best of them. However, he was our best penetrating guard and had gained some confidence in his outside shot. Hopefully he has continued to improve in both areas. He was definitely a solid on the ball defender prior to the injury and we will need that this year. I would just like to see our starting PG and SG put up 8 to 10 points per night. CJW and Tracy can handle a good portion of the scoring load in my opinion. Of course, this year is so unpredictable with all the young guys that will get playing time. We'll see how it goes.Alum02noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7925605977955920392.post-78531531897862826932009-10-28T13:38:40.090-04:002009-10-28T13:38:40.090-04:00What is this bad news coming out of Maryland? What is this bad news coming out of Maryland?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7925605977955920392.post-69763809658137000762009-10-28T13:35:07.138-04:002009-10-28T13:35:07.138-04:00WPH -

We had already lost to New Orleans at home with Farnold 100% healthy and running the point. Just wanted to point that out. I still think that he will play a large role for us this year. I expect this to be a pretty nice year for us. We will take our lumps, but we will learn in the process.
