If we land Vandenberg/Painter then it would bring our number down next year. Wall really doesn't matter since he's 1 and done.

Ferguson and Costner opened up 2 ships. Next year Horner and Degand will open up 2 more. But honestly I wouldn't worry about the number we have to hand out. If there's a top player that wants to come to State, he will not be turned away.

In my opinion, the staff is on Painter but and I'm told he will visit us, but I'm not sure if the staff would rather have him or Vandenberg. I know that sounds crazy, but Vandenberg is 7 feet tall and actually has a pretty high ceiling. Couple that with the fact that he's not demanding playing time (Painter decommitted to Florida for that very reason) and he'd be happy just being a role player behind Smith, Howell and Horner until he develops. So there is a decision the staff is forced to make. Neither guy can come in a be an absolute game changer , but both could log minutes in the ACC as a freshman.

John Wall supposedly told media at the Jordan game that he'll decide after the Miami visit, which means he'll be deciding this week. As you know, things with Wall can change in an instant so I wouldn't hold your breath)

The Vandenberg situation should be all resolved in the next few days to a week, at which point he'll make his final decision. He does like us but he also just met with Nevada, so we have nothing official at the moment. Him being in Australia makes everything a bit harder for us to follow, we'll keep you updated as best we can.Wolfpack Hoopshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07952147309857745596noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7925605977955920392.post-38143002025044270522009-04-25T12:31:00.000-04:002009-04-25T12:31:00.000-04:00How many "ships" do we have to give out ...How many "ships" do we have to give out for next year? i know Degand & Horner are seniors but that is only 2. Keep in mind, lowe and company were after John Wall, CJ Leslie, and Ryan Kelly (just to name a few in our own back yard) before they had any stars and long before other local schools began recruiting.Krisnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7925605977955920392.post-2266887594102310532009-04-25T09:35:00.000-04:002009-04-25T09:35:00.000-04:00Reed,
