Cothron Goes For 40+ Again
After scoring 42 points against Oak Hill Academy on Wednesday night, Luke Cothron made it two games straight with 40+ points, scoring 43 last night in the first day of the Calvary Baptist Day Invitational. Through 3 games this NC State commit is averaging 37 points a game. Flora MacDonald will be playing again today in Winston Salem at 3:00pm. If you live in the surrounding area, go give Luke your support.

Keep Going Luke!!!
Play like the Best Player in the State!!!!
Calvary is AWFUL if it was against them he should have dropped 60 my high school team played them and smoked em
I love the way people are so critical now we are nc state and we shall be excited to have the class we have coming in. A few months ago we were praying for Luke to sign, now because people have hope fo CJ recommiting their opinions have changed. I know flora mcdonald dosen't exactly have a tough schedule but i've seen luke and cj go head to head both have different styles luke is a power player like tracy but with a better jump shot and CJ is a lttle more athletic with a little more speed and better handles. I'd love to have both but right now luke is committed and we need to support him instead of criticizing him who scores 60 points, and who plays defense when your down 30 at the half. If we run luke off and then CJ commits elsewhere we will feel pretty stupid!
Rivals just dropped us to the #10 recruiting class and is calling Cothron a soft commit. Sweet.
Rivals is calling Luke a soft comment becuae he did not sign early, who cares if sign now are later. It's funny the last I checked none of Duke Players had signed yet (looking on Rivals site) but they are not considered soft comments.
haha, Calvary is my old high school....we used to be good...
"Rivals just dropped us to the #10 recruiting class and is calling Cothron a soft commit. Sweet."
SWEET??? What in the world is "sweet" about that???
I don't know glock, but I don't think I'll be talking about anyone else's "fans" anymore. What I've heard and read lately makes me embarrassed to be lumped in with many our own "fans".
BTW, "anon" how many of the guys from your high school scored 43 points on Calvary?
sweet - sarcasm. and why is anon in bunny ears? that doesn't make any sense.
redfred smells blood in the water - attack redfred! attack!
Hey "anon", I wasn't even talking to you, I was talking to "anon".
You know, that guy who is afraid to take a name and stand behind his own words. You know I would never say anything like that about you "anon", I'm talking about the "anon".
Lighten up "anon".
Way to go BIG LUKE !!! I hope that I get a chance to see him play this year. Anon even if you are playing a bad team, dropping 43 points is still VERY impressive in my book. I am still a big Luke supporter & look forward to seeing him in red & white next year. Come on & sign Luke. I was at Ryan's signing & would love to come & see your signing to!!
Sorry for the anon post. My google account isn't working. I usaly post as C.C.
Chris
Whoa Chris, before you really had me going before you actually had the common sense and courtesy to type your name at the bottom of your comment. For a minute there, I thought it was going to be...
"anon" vs "anon"
14' Cage Match
to the Death!!!
glock,
I don't think anyone is having doubts now that he has committed. In fact, I haven't seen anyone besides you, me or WPH who has seen the kid play. My first and only impression wasn't a good one, but you say different...looking for someone else to chime in.
I think most people are excited to see him come to NCSU with the rest of the studs in 2010. People are generally worried that he didn't sign in the early period with the rest of the commits. I would say that both Cothron and the fans are justified...Cothron because it is his decision, and the fans because they were expecting him to do so.
Nobody wants to run anyone off...certainly not a highly rated recruit. And, people are excited about a possible recommit by CJL. I think the two are separate issues for most fans...want Cothron to sign, AND want CJL to sign. I haven't seen one trashed over the other...everyone wants BOTH.
So, to Cothron AND CJL, sign on the dotted line.

I wish morons like this weren't allowed to post here.
Luke... you are the future. Sign whenever you want, just stay committed to State. Everybody is concerned with CJ, but he de-committed. If we get him great, but I'm more concerned with keeping our ESPN100 recruits. Luke is good enough to go anywhere, but he want s to come to Raleigh. The least we could do is have everyone get behind him. Raleigh is Cothron Country 100%
That's messed up that it almost feels like Rivals WANTS us to lose Cothron. Already listing him as a soft verbal even though he keeps saying himself that he is solidly committed to NC State.
So I'm the anon that said cavalry was awful. I wasn't implying that he actually should have scored 60. It was more of a comment on how bad cavalry is. They are all under 6"4. 40+ is impressive but consider the competition. I'm sure if u asked luke his opinion on calvary he would agree with me.
Well, according to rivals he did say he is committed to us, but also said he wasn't ready to sign because he wanted to make sure he made the right decision.
Pretty contradictory, but I'm not sure I'd call that soft.
