"I want to find out what a historically black school has to offer," Wall
said Thursday night. "This is a visit to find out some things."
Talk about researching every option available. When John Wall decides where he is going, he will never have to look back and wonder if he rushed into his decision. Will NCCU be in the picture after the visit? I seriously doubt it as the Central coach is a long time friend Lavelle Moton. This was most likely more of a learning experience than a basketball visit.
Wherever John ends up we should respect his final decision. The kid was pulled in every direction, and has been asked to make a decision, at 18 years of age, that will break the hearts of thousands of people.

If he went to NCCU he would probably set records that would never be broken...ever
^^fixed.
Hey guys I just heard that DeShawn Painter is making his official visit to NC State tommorow is that true? Do we have a offer on the table for him.... I would love to land this kid he is going to be amazing!!!
This move clearly shows that Wall is just doing it for the attention and ride. Let's move on from Wall and look to adding some other 4*/5*
Off topic but, it sure is nice to have a place to come discuss the team without someone claiming to "own" certain information they want people to pay for.
Jesse.
Although many may feel like that we encourage you to see this in a different light. I have personally talked with John Wall on more than one occasion and the feeling I'm always left with is that this kid is honestly torn. He really is. I know you want to believe he's playing people and doing this to get attention, but that is just not the case. He is playing the recruiting game the way any recruit who is unsure should play it. The staff is recruiting another player (Painter) very hard , but to write off John for "taking too long" would simply be a bad move by the staff. John seriously does not know where he is going. I think he has a rough idea but he is not sold as of now. I'd encourage everyone to keep positive during this time and support John's decision no matter where he ends up.
Mike,
Thanks for the support! However the other sites that charge, charge for a reason. This is hard work. Keeping you up to date with up to the minute NC State news, tracking down info, editing and uploading video, covering events...it all is very time consuming and could really be done best if it was your only job. Unfortunetly all the guys that work on this with us have jobs, families, etc. ... we'd greatly appreciate any donation you'd be willing to give. If not, we understand, times are hard...but we would appreciate it tons.
Why can't a brother go to an all black school? you seem to think it is a reach? If JW did hit central than I predict they would beat us next year. Holla!
JW has the right to make the best decision possible, for he and his family. If that turns out to be Central, so be it. I'm sure that some fans feel like he is toying with them, but that's an ego trip. John is not worried about the fans of any school. He's an 18 year old young man that has to get it right the first time, under a ton of scrutiny.
In regards to going after Painter, or anyone else for that matter, Sid has to cover his bases. He can recruit two kids for one scholarship. Recruiting is an inexact science. Things happen. We could lose Painter and Wall due to bad timing. We could land both, if Painter was held until 2010 due to eligibility requirements. There are a lot of scenarios, so as a fan, just sit back and wait. Have a beer. Spend time with the family. Take a vacation and get your mind off of things. Sid and crew are pounding the pavement for you, and just before the dust settles, you can bet that you will find the scoop right here at Wolfpack Hoops. Relax.
I am very concerned that John is trying too hard to keep from disappointing the people who care about him. His coach who he respects wants him to go to one school.
His mom who he loves wants him to go to another school.
And a number of very nice dedicated college coaches are pressuring him to "Pick Me!." All of them have legitimate reasons for John to make a different decision, any of which might be a good choice.
Then let's add to that 8+ different fan bases who passionately want John to play for their school, and they can give him really good reasons why he should.
That's a lot of pressure for an 18 year old very young man.
For what it's worth, here's the following link.

"... [Wall]informed UM coach Frank Haith that his choice would come down to two schools - Kentucky and Miami."
The key word being "could". There's been a lot of things inferred and a lot of things /said/ during this recruiting process. I think we've got a good chance... until there's an "official" announcement otherwise.
My opinion? If it's such a hard decision, just stick around Raleigh for a year or two, hang-out and play in front of your family and friends. Become a Wolfpack legend and (potentially)) win an ACC-championship, make a run in the big dance, and win it all for your hometown team. Then go do your thing in the NBA.
We'll probably be hearing his name for many years to come, regardless of his college choice. I think he's the real deal.
...In a follow-up to my previous post. I see the article actually says "would", but I have to interpret that as "could"...
It will be interesting to see how it all plays out. I for one don't think we have a shot at Wall so if this swing our way I will amazed. I still think when it comes down to it, his two choices will be the NBA or Kentucky.
