Quincy Miller Speaks on His Visit to NC State

As we reported this afternoon, Quincy Miller was on NC State's campus today, paying the Wolfpack a visit and seeing just what the school has to offer. Miller is one of the top 2011 recruits in the nation and is certainly a player that the NC State staff will be going after hard.

We had the opportunity to catch up with Quincy this evening and talk with him about his visit to NC State.

"Man it was great. It was one of the best visits I've been on yet. I felt very comfortable. They made me feel like i was at home." Miller told us when asked about the visit.

Although Miller is only a rising Junior, he's already being recruited by many of the top schools, and has already visited UNC, Duke, Wake Forest, South Carolina and now NC State. When asked what he got to do on his visit, Miller told us that he was shown the facilities, got to meet some of the players while they were in study hall and hung around with the coaches.

"I got to hang out with the coaches a lot. They talked to me about how I fit into their system and a lot of the history and tradition of the school." said Miller, who also added "I like to know about the history and tradition of schools because I like to know about the schools past players, because I like to know what players I might be compared to one day."

This was a great step for NC State in the recruitment of Miller. Being one of the first few schools visited, the Pack has shown Quincy that he is a 2011 priority. Although this will likely be a long process for him, NC State has made a good first impression and most importantly made him feel in his words "comfortable." Something that is very important to Quincy. "The most important thing in my recruitment is where I feel the most comfortable." he said. Something Sidney Lowe and the Pack faithful like to hear.

One last comment on the new uniform then I'll let it drop. Who "discouraged" Coach Lowe and Lee Fowler from using the old "STATE" only design?

Anyway Quincy is the real deal and will look great in any style NC State uniform they come up with.

ESPN mens bball recruiting front page...story about CJ Leslie.

OUCH. That stings quite a bit. Then the article makes it seem like he's not even considering us, which stings even more. I'm sure he's still considering us, but wow.

Lets see, if ESPN was right in their reporting.

USC Trojans would be NCAA football champs

    Brett Favre would be retired(Still)

    Calapari would be NCSU coach

Leslie would have already committed to UK

Since ESPN flunks most predictions or news, I find it good they don't have us in the mix.

    We will see.

Plus is Leslie the answer we need. Give me 4 star 4 year players over a 1 and done anytime.

Yeah, I hate that Leslie de-committed too. It only stands to reason that we'll have better luck with players who aren't from this area. You know, the ones aren't familiar with, and those who haven't been reading the commentary over at places like say, well uh, like statefansnation for example.

Will Quincy be at the football game tomorrow night?

If so he could see how passionate the state fans are about their teams.

    Nice one, Redfred.
I always enjoyed your posts over at the WWSNBN. Keep 'em coming. I'm really hoping some Ark builders and some guys who graduated in '95 eat some crow this year. I haven't been to the dark side in about 6 months and haven't missed it at all -- thanks to WPH. Keep up the good work!

I know there's some bitterness out there about missing on Walls, Favors, and Cousins, but I see it all as a positive. Having some of the top players in the nation visiting State and putting us in their final list is a good thing, and great for future recruiting. Sure, it'd be much better if we landed one of them, but I see our recruiting only getting better. And we've already got one (or two) of the best in the country coming in in '10.
