It is doubtful at this point that the offer to Plumlee is "committable," as he's only a rising junior. However we have confirmed that NC State is tracking him with Monte Towe as the lead recruiter. We've been told that it's unlikely that Coach Lowe has seen much of Marshall live, and usually no scholorship is ever offered unless Sid has had a chance to really evaluate a kid with his own eyes.
I know you're thinking to yourself..."That name sounds familiar!?" Well it should. Marshall Plumlee is the younger brother of Mason and Miles Plumlee. Miles was a freshman at Duke this past season and saw only limited minutes for the Blue Devils, while Mason is the more athletic prospect and is set to arrive in Durham next season. The youngest however is just beginning to blossom and Sidney Lowe has taken aim. According to Marshall, the Wolfpack has extended an offer.
Marshall Plumlee is a near seven foot, 200lbs four-star prospect, and a member of the 2011 class, who's game is just starting to catch up with his size. We at Wolfpack Hoops got the chance to see Marshall live at the Carolina Challenge. At this point he is very raw, however his size is obvious and he shows flashes of athleticism. His brother Mason is very athletic and if he matures into that type of player, the Wolfpack would be well served to have this kid manning the paint in '11. He sometimes looked a bit awkward going up against stronger, more athletic bigs, but then again he is only a rising junior standing at 7 feet tall and will surely progress a great deal in the coming years. We'll begin tracking Marshall this summer and will continue to do so until something changes.
