Recruits at the NC State vs. Pitt Football Game

As earlier reported, there were a few big time recruits at the football game tonight. Luke Cothron and Lorenzo Brown were reportedly on hand to watch the Pack take on Big East powerhouse Pitt. We did not see Ryan Harrow who later informed us that he was unable to make the trip to Raleigh this weekend.

This makes the third straight game that Luke Cothron has attended. A great sign for the Wolfpack, who has already been named his favorite.  Luke has told us recently that he is going to try to make it to most home Wolfpack football games this season. There are also reports that CJ Williams, Jordan Vandenberg and Josh Davis were also on hand to take in the action.

I took a few pictures of the group, not yet sure how clear they turned out considering I was sitting far away from them but I def saw Cothron and Brown.

I actually saw Luke, wearing a grey hoodie, standing behind the section 8/9 at halftime and I stopped and talked to him for a min or two, very respectful young man who seems to really love the pack! After we chatted a while, I went to walk away but I made sure to give the little "come to state and be apart of a big thing, we'd love to have you!". He smiled from ear to ear and said thanks I really enjoy the atmosphere here and I let him continue to talk to his friend. Once again VERY nice guy, I have a feeling hes really into state, just my feeling though...

It seemed most left after halftime, or at least didn't continue to sit in the rain the 2nd half... which I cant blame a top recruit...

Just wanted to remind everyone about our Football site WolfpackPigskin.com. Didn't know if all the WPH visitors were aware

I too saw Luke wearing a gray hoodie leaving the game. I was surprised he was still around at the end of such a rainy game. Hopefully thats a great sign! I tried to get a picture but I couldn't get my camera on in time while he was walking the other direction. There was another guy with him but I didn't know who it was. I don't think it was Brown but I could be mistaken.

Did Shawn Kemp Jr. make the game as well?

They really picked a awesome game to attend even with the rain the crowd was awesome. The announcers made comments that we had the loudest crowd along with clemson in the ACC. It was such a good game I wanted to sign a LOI and I'm 31 nobody wants me but I'd love to see that excitement transfer over to the RBC center.

glock, just keep checking out WPH, don't veer off onto some of the other "fans" sites, and we will keep the POSITIVE energy flowing right into the RBC.

I remember many years ago being at C-F, waiting in line to get a drink at halftime, and someone said "Excuse me", because they bumped into me from behind. Anyway, when I turned around, there was a belt bucket at about my eye level, it was 1973, and it was Tommy Burleson standing there with me.

Oh, and just so you'll know, I'm totally aware that the wording in that comment sounds a little strange, so go ahead, have your fun.

Redfred, you wouldn't happen to be talking about statefans would you?

I was at the game yesterday and the atmosphere was amazing. Especially considering the conditions. I didn't see any of the recruits in the second half but i hope they stuck around somewhere.

Energy is one thing that has never been a problem here at NC State though.

I had season tickets 2 years ago and one of the problems I noticed was other season ticket holders just didn't come. There was 5 seats beside me that I never saw anyone in the whole season. I think some alum buy tickets just to say they gave back to the school but we need fans not donations. Last season I went to a few games and had to sit in the 300 section with the Valvano jersey and the 200 section looked like a ghost town even during confrence games. We got to get out there and support our team and we'll see the luke's and the leslie's commiting, just like Freshad Hunter did yesterday.

glock, I've been there before, good seats, lower level, sitting in one row alone with three friends that I had invited, and had the two rows in front and back of us completely empty. Wasn't an ACC game, but it was still disheartening and pretty embarassing all at the same time.

Oh, and have I ever told anyone my version of Sidney Lowe's first official game back at NC State as the new HC? What a L-A-M-E excuse for a welcoming home party that was.

    Don't get me started.

There's no doubt that Sidney Lowe can seek out and then get these kid's attention. What would be nice now, if they had an AD and SID that could at least offer them a little assistance along the way.

^I meant to say "...Sidney Lowe (and his staff) can seek out..."

Got to give credit where credit is due.

The whole Hargrave bball team was expected to be there, and that's where Shawn Kemp Jr. is at.

Speaking of recruits at the football game, I heard Tyler Brosius was there for State's win over Pitt.

He's not from "these here parts". So it's not a case of a local kid taking in a State game. He made an effort to come to this game.

He's a UVa football QB COMMITMENT.

Does anyone besides me take this as a sign that maybe he's not quite so interested in UVa any more?

Someone else on here was asking about Brosius just the other day. I didn't reply because I knew he had already committed awhile back. I'm wondering what's going on with him now myself???

    Any info available there WPH?

Brosius committed to UVA in June but he still seems to be in the market and shopping for offers. He was at the Pitt game.
