What's The Latest With Tashawn Mabry?

Tashawn Maby is a very talented 6'6 wing player in the class of 2010 who is athletic, relentless, and is starting to show a bit of a shooting stroke these days. It was reported that NC State had offered Tashawn a while back. So many are still wondering, does that offer still stand today? With the addition of Scott Wood and Josh Davis, we don't believe the offer is committable at the moment, as the coaching staff desperately wants to add a big with the final scholarship in 2010. However, you can believe that the staff will be keeping one eye on Mabry as he leads Rocky Mount High School in his Senior season. It's something to at least keep an eye on as the Pack tries to fill their final scholarship for a class that is already being talked about nationally. Here is a short highlight reel, recently done by our friends over at One Entertainment. Check it out.

His def is what really impresses me. Strong on the ball defender who protects the paint and can really get up in the air. Honestly, without ever having seen Parker play in person, Mabry reminds me alot of him but maybe alittle more athleticism. If he can get a shot from 15 ft he could really be a force at the 3 spot in the ACC. I just wonder if Sid &co. will end up keeping their offer on the table...

That being said PLEASE COME TO STATE CJ LESLIE......

Agree with the comments above, but he looks to have heavier feet than Parker, or other recruits we have in the pipeline for that matter.

In the article from highschoolhoop, it mentions that his team rarely gets him the ball and they are right. I've seen him play a couple of times and he definately didn't dominate the ball. He still scored around 25 or 30 pts. and had about 10 or 12 rebs.

I check the box scores in the paper for most of his games and just about every time he flirts with a triple double.

I really like this kid!!! Looks he realizes that there are two ends on a BB court, and he even enjoys playing the other 50% of the game. Which is by the way, used to be known as "defense".

We saw Mabry 2 years ago and was not impressed. Saw him this year and was simply blown away. He is so aggressive and is a smart, strong basketball player. That being said, he was dragging his feet and State went and scooped up Josh Davis who basically will slot into the same role Mabry would have. On a Josh Davis note, we heard that Davis is better than advertised and is no fall back player by any means. He is not dominant, but will play a role, maybe as early as this year.

Good to hear about Josh! I was skeptical when we signed him, but I am glad that we have him in the fold. He WANTS to be here and will hustle his butt off to earn PT. Maybe he can have a Cam Bennerman type career.

yep, all comments should be made witht the preface that its just a 'highlight' video, but his two-handed above-the-rim defense is impressive.

Talking with a source whom claims to be close to mabry, it was said to believe that mabry himself said that State may be the top contender to land him
