Favors Chooses GT....
Seems as if everyone saw this coming, but Favors has chosen to run with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. While this is a disappointment to Sid and company, be sure to know that the Wolfpack will continue to be in contact with Favors, because if Hewitt is canned after the season all bets are off.

FAVORS TO ANNOUNCE TOMORROW

The AJC is reporting that Derrick Favors will make his college decision tomorrow. They list GT, Georgia and NC State as the 3 he will be choosing from. The AJC has corrected their article from earlier today that didn't mention the Pack and replaced them with Memphis.
Odds are it is GT. I mean he is announcing it from ESPNZone at 6:30pm, which is right before the Yellow Jackets play. Then again, GT also is losing games left and right and the jury is still out on whether Hewitt's job is safe. So the announcement time doesn't really make any sense, as none of the schools have done anything extraordinary on the court to gain the attention of Favors as of late.
We're guessing GT, but stranger things have happened and if anyone can sweep in and make a last minute pitch, a la JJ Hickson, it's Sidney Lowe. Keep your fingers crossed Pack fans! The full article is below:

This past weekend was a dismal weekend for Pack Basketball fans. Allow me to attempt to shed a little bit of perspective if you will. Yes it is true...we looked terrible in the loss against Clemson. Allow me to also point out the fact that Georgia Tech and Georgia lost this weekend as well. With both of these teams being our competition in the race for Favors any time they put another mark in the loss column the better. GT sits at 9-6 with losses to Penn State, University of Illinois-Chicago, USC, UVA, Alabama, and Maryland. Georgia is perched at 9-7 with losses to Loyola (IL), Western Kentucky, Illinois, Texas A&M-CC, Missouri, Georgia Tech, and Tennessee. While we are clearly aware that we are only 9-4 and aren't demolishing these two teams in record, in our defense all of our losses are quality losses (if there is such a thing). Each of these squads has inexcusable losses and is flirting around the .500 mark. Understanding that if we don't pick up the win total then this is a moot point. We are fully aware here that the odds aren't in our favor to land either of the Top 3, but we believe that certain factors can push them in our direction. Dismal seasons by both GT and UGA would definitely help our chances, especially with the possible dismissal of Coach Hewitt.
On another note, Centennial made it 11 wins in a row by beating Regional Rival Milton this past Friday 72-64. Lorenzo Brown had a quiet night with 11 points and 6 assists. Centennial improved to 11-1 on the year and remains undefeated in Regional play at 4-0. They continue Regional play tomorrow night as they travel to Pope. Zo is averaging 21.8 ppg.
C.J. Leslie is making it a habit of leading highly touted Word of God Academy in scoring as he lead the way again tonight with 18 points, which is slightly above his average. WOG won convincingly 82-54 over Waccamaw to improve to 9-7 on the season. Leslie did all of his damage in 3 quarters of play because he was late. Four other players finished in double-digits for the Holy Rams as well with Wall adding 14 and Bishop Daniels with 11.
