Marion Claims Title Once Again

Every year Marion hosts a Holiday Classic on their home court for four teams in a two-day event. Marion beat Lafayette Jefferson 81-76 in the championship game, marking Marion's second title in three years as they reclaimed the title to their own Classic. Marion has a freakin stud on their hands in NC State commit Scott Wood, who poured in 36 points. This was Wood's third 30+ point performance in 7 games this year. He has turned into a much more all around player this year by developing his game beyond being known as one of the deadliest shooters in the nation. He has become very active in attacking the basket, creating shots for himself off the dribble, and he finds himself at home on the free throw line shooting well over 90% from the strip. Marion is now 7-1 on the year and Scott Wood is averaging a clean 28 ppg.

Marion plays again this Wednesday night against Oak Hill. This game is a highly anticipated match up between two Indiana powerhouses that is being made up since it was postponed due to weather in December. Stay tuned for results/stats.
