This Weeks Recruiting Shmorgusborg

It's been a busy week for our recruits and we have some catching up to do:

This past Saturday LeFlore went to war with Arlington Country Day. It was prospect DeMarcus Cousins who put the nail in ACD's coffin with a free throw with 2.5 seconds to go to win the game. That free throw wasn't all the hammering that Cousin's did as he also put 29 points and 15 rebounds down on the stat sheet. LeFlore was back in action on Tuesday and improved to 16-2 by beating St. Paul's Episcopal 74-44. Cousins scored 19 in the victory. LeFlore is now 5-0 in Regional action and Cousins is averaging 22.3 ppg. LeFlore plays again next Tuesday at home against Faith Academy.

Also on Tuesday night, Lorenzo Brown was looking to help Centennial add to their current 9 game winning streak and to end Campbell's 10 game streak. Centennial sweated out their 10th consecutive win by enduring 2 overtimes resulting in a final score of 94-92. Lorenzo Brown just seems to be getting better and better as he contributed 34 points to the cause. Zo threw down an oop and a pair of free throws to seal the deal in the final minute of play. Centennial gets a chance at regional foe Milton, who just beat Ryan Harrow's Walton, this Friday night for a home game. Both teams come into this game undefeated in Regional play and someone is going to end up with a 1 in the L column. Centennial is now 10-1 and Lorenzo is averaging 22.7 ppg.

Everyone in Indiana has been looking forward to the Marion/Oak Hill game since mid-December when the game originally was supposed to be played. Well the anticipation is over because the two teams finally got to dual last night. Scott Wood led Marion to an 86-71 victory with his second straight game of 30+ points (4 out of 8 games total). Wood scored 31 and is now averaging 28.4 ppg and has led his team to a 7-1 record. Marion will be back in action this Friday night at Eastbrook.

Word of God continues to struggle as they lost last night to Ravenscroft 68-59. C.J. Leslie scored 20 and John Wall scored 17. WOG hopes to improve on their 7-7 record at home this Friday night against Trinity Christian. We should get as many fans as possible there and paint the place with red T-Shirts. Maybe a little red in the house would help end their 2 game skid. John Wall is averaging 18.2 ppg and Leslie is averaging 17.5 ppg.
