Wolfpack Practice: News and Notes

- Practice for the Pack is never a walk in the park these days, especially when it's at 6am. Yes you heard that right, Coach Lowe scheduled a practice for 6am yesterday morning. Why? Well we're not sure but we have some guesses. Either Lowe wanted to send a message that it's time to get focused and get serious as the Pack gets set to play their first conference game at Clemson, or because our coaching staff wasn't going to be around last night for some reason....in-home visit, anyone?

-Trevor Ferguson is progressing and the chances of him playing this weekend are increasing. Trevor is shooting lights out in practice as of late and is growing more comfortable with the bandage/mitten he's been wearing on his left hand. The only concern is dribbling under pressure...and we won't know how he truly will respond to that until he takes the floor on Saturday, if he even does.

- Courtney Fells, who had not been practicing with the team due to an injured ankle, started back practicing 2 days ago and is looking good. He's moving well and is ready for the ACC opener at Clemson.

- Where's Javi been? While most people assume that Javi is still injured, we found out that he received a "DNP-Coaches Decision" against Florida last Saturday. While we're not really sure why Coach Lowe held Javi out, we do know he is likely to take the court against Clemson this weekend and that he is over the injured arm and ankle that had previously been a problem.

- Monte Towe was working hard to try to get Derrick Favors down to Florida last Saturday to check out the Pack in action. We are doing our best to find out whether or not he was successful.

- Farnold Degand looks and feels like he's finally turning the corner. You saw it last game as he was able to, at times, dice into the Florida D with ease. Now we're hearing from the training staff that Degand is about 90%, and we'll need all of that because the Clemson guards can be a handful on both ends of the court.
