Pack Looks to Gain Some Swagger Against Central
NC STATE WOLFPACK Vs. NC CENTRAL EAGLES
GAME TIME: 7pm
LOCATION: Raleigh, NC
TELEVISION: None (PackPass)
Coming off an emotionally charged loss, the Wolfpack look to regain a little moment as they face an in-town foe NCCU. Because this may seem like a cake walk for the Pack, it is a non-conference game against an inferior team in the midst of the ACC schedule, it makes you wonder how hard we'll play tonight. We can only hope that this team wants to come out and prove to the Wolfpack Nation that this season is not lost and that they can still contend. Slowly but surely State has shown signs of improvement. The progression of point guards Farnold Degand and Julius Mays, the emergence of junior forward Dennis Horner, and the rebirth of our beloved senior Courtney Fells. Although the Carolina game did not turn out the way most of us would have liked, you must admit that progress is being made. We are playing harder for longer and really starting to shoot 3 ball with a little confidence. These are good signs heading into another rough patch in our ACC schedule. But the Pack's first focus must be set on the Eagles, who, while they are only 2-22, still must be taken seriously. They are a guard oriented team with their top 3 scorers all being under 6'3. The key will be for Degand to shut down 5'10 Jamar Briscoe who leads the Eagles with 16 points per game.
The Pack will have the opportunity to do some serious damage in the paint, look for McCauley and Costner to really get a lot of touches, but this game has Tracy Smith written all over it. If he can get the ball in the post this is the type of team he can utterly destroy.
