Marion Takes 1st Round

The Marion Giants entered the Class-4A State Playoffs with a 17-3 record and another Conference Championship notched in their belt. They also came in boasting the #9 ranking. All of these accolades mean nothing when it comes to March Madness. Anything can happen. Well last night Marion lived up to the hype by defeating Fort Wayne North 94-86 in the 1st round of the State Playoffs. The Giants dynamic duo of Scott Wood and JaRob McCallum both splashed the box score with 27 points apiece. Justin Jordan was a handful for the Giants as he scored 40 points for Fort Wayne, but it wasn't enough. The 18-3 Marion Giants move on to the semi-finals against Jay County on Friday night at 7:30pm. The Giants are trying to make it to the State Finals for the second straight year. Only this time they are looking to hang a banner.
