Trevor Ferguson Will Not Return to Team
We've just received word that redshirt junior Trevor Ferguson will not be returning to the NC State basketball team next season. Trevor will most likely be attempting to graduate and will opt to forgo his final year of eligibility at NCSU. We'd like to thank Trevor for the hard work, hustle, and passion he exuded every time he stepped on the floor for us.
Trevor averaged 5.5 points per game and shot 35.4% from beyond the arc this season. Ferguson seemed to step up and step in whenever he was called upon. Whether it was running the point briefly last season, or stepping in at shooting guard when Sid had to go with a smaller line-up this season.
This news means that now Sidney Lowe has another scholarship available for next season, which is certainly good news for a thin frontcourt that could get much thinner if Brandon Costner decides to leave.
Thank you Trevor and good luck wherever life may take you!

6 Responses to "Trevor Ferguson Will Not Return to Team"I liked Trevor. good ball handler and good basketball I.Q.
Best wishes to a young man who played with a lot of hustle and heart.
He was given the bums rush and never really got a chance to show what he had,
I didn't see that coming... but I wish him the best and look forward to seeing him in the "athlete" section at future games.
A lot of people have said they didn't see it coming, as most people were focused on Costner.
If you think about it though, this year CJ already had taken over Trevor's role as backup SG. Now, with the addition of Lorenzo Brown and Mays possibly moving over to the SG position, Trevor really didn't have a role on this team (unless people got injured)
He may transfer down to Div. I AA which would allow him to play immediately without sitting out a year. It's possible he'd choose that route, but a degree from NC State might be worth more to him in the long run (if he has the grades to graduate), so we'll see.
Sid is starting to get his guys in here and if B.Cost does leave, which all signs are pointing to that he will, Sid will be left with not one player that was ever coached by Herb. Something I think he'll be happy about.
Hope he graduates from NCSU at some point since that is the whole scholar-athlete point.
With BC looking like he may leave that will leave only Degand as a player on the roster who has known any other college coach other then Sid. Things are about to get a whole lot better sooner then many folks anticipate
