Harrow, Parker and Ohio Basketball Club Updates from The King James

We were keeping these updates at the top of the King James preview thread, but decided it'd be easier for everyone if we put it all together in it's own post. We'll be updating this throughout the tournament. We have a contact at the games and will, for the most part, be able to get you the stats and results immediately after each game. So far, here are the Harrow updates, and we'll be bringing you some Parker updates in the near future. Keep checking back.

*****Late Saturday Night Update - Ryan Harrow and Mychal Parker put on a show last night against some of the best competition the country has to offer. Harrow had 14 and Parker had 18. These two are easily standing out as 2 of the top prospects at this prestigious event. Although they lost by 2 and are now eliminated from the event, we've been told that Ryan really helped his stock in the King James. We'll talk to Ryan and let you know his thoughts on the tournament a little later on.

****Saturday Night Update- Ryan led the Ohio Basketball Club over the MBA Elite putting up 12 and piloting his team to victory. Ryan is playing with a team he is not familiar with and another elite prospect in Mychal Parker, so you can expect him not to be putting up the 25-28 you're used to seeing. Ohio Basketball Club now moves on to play Ohio Red tonight at 9:20pm. Stay posted for an update.

***Saturday Afternoon Update - The 1 O'Clock game got cancelled. They will play MBA Elite at 4 and if they win that game they will move on to play Ohio Red which is one of the Top-5 teams in the country.

**Saturday Morning Update - Ryan and crew defeated the Michigan Mustangs 86-74 this morning in the 8 O'Clock game. Ryan had around 19 points and 5 assists. In the second half, Ryan took things into his own hands, going on a 10-point spurt to help put the game away. They will be playing again at 1pm. Stay posted.

Thank you so much for these updates. AAU elite level ball is intense and all these players are being put into the pressure cooker for sure.

Could you do me and any others who care a favor and ask a source there about the TO's that happen while Ryan's there? One thing that amazed me when watching his games' for Walton on-line was how it always seemed a question of did he score/did the player he passed to score and rarely did the did they TO the ball.

It really shows, especially at this elite level talent displayed at these tourneys, that the teams that often TO the ball the least get really strong showings at the events. Not coincidentally at the "Real Deal" and now "The King James" a team with Ryan at the point are getting their fare share of chances and obviously making the most based on wins and losses.

What I meant to say is that i'm NOT 100% sure if he has a committable offer. If he doesn't then there's a really good chance one is on the way.

    ^ Anonymous,
That may be the case, I'll do my best to confirm that.

Sounds like these two already have a great relationship, if they can keep that up and we land parker imagine how good they will be in 2 or 3 years of playing together.

With the signing of Vandenberg if we sign Painter this year am I correct in assuming we only have 1 scholarship left for 2010 after Harrow?

Looking at Luke Cothorn, CJ Leslie and Mychal Parker we would only have room for one? I am thinking it would be best to go for Wall or bust on the last scholarship this year to be able to sign 2 of those guys for next year, unless the staff knows something we do not?

I disagree. Painter is a legit top-100 guy who at one point was considered a top-20 player. You can't pass up a talent like that when he would actually be able to help us a full year earlier, and have a year's experience when those other guys would be freshmen, not to mention the old "bird in the hand" saying. If we got him, we wouldn't have to worry about the possibility of missing on those 2010 guys.

^ Thats one way to look at it, however by giving Painter a scholorship you'll be overloaded at the 4. Howell, Painter, Horner. Howell IMO is better right now than Painter and you can believe Horner is going to get good minutes b/c he's a vet and knows the ropes. Tracy will see almost all the mintues at the 5 and thats the way Sid wants it. When he needs a blow or gets in trouble we have a legit center (size wise) in Vandenberg.

Save that ship and you're looking at 2 scholorships to use on Cothron (5 star), Leslie (5 star), Parker (5 star). All of who project much higher than Painter. Painter is good, dont get me wrong, but I think the staff is going to hold onto that ship unless Wall wants to come. (which wont hurt the 'ship situation since he'll be one and done)

Would love to hear the Pack offer Parker. I remember seeing him at the Carolina Challenge along the sidelines but never noticed him or watched him play in a game. Did you guys catch any of his play (film?) and what did you think of what you saw?

    Zo, Harrow, Parker, Howell, Smith

Mays, Wood, CJ, Cothron and Jordan.

No favorites, no guaranteed minutes; just mix/match and put your team in the best position to get the W and go home.

    Let the breakout party continue...

Brian Snow from Rivals had some nice things to say about Harrow.

Evan Daniels also was quite complimentary of Harrow (that oughta quiet down the PackPride kids for a bit). I think it's becoming clear now that Harrow is one of the nation's top PGs, and he should get his well deserved ratings boost. Hopefully Leslie and Cothron are watching.

True, and don't forget Ryan and Lo have been playing together since they were kids.

While we're talking about relationships, Mays and Wood also played together for a while @ Marion, and Wood took Mays' spot @ pg this last season. These reactants could possibly result in a spectacular chemical reaction!

(speaking of, what's Wood's summer plans?)
