"It wasn't anything major," Wall said. "He just called to check in, see how I was doing, what was going on. It's nothing big. North Carolina is not recruiting me right now."
In fact, Brian Clifton, director of D-One sports and recruiting mentor to John Wall, had this to say about the possibility of UNC pursuing John:
"I have no desire to talk to, to be involved with, to visit, to contemplate in any shape, form or fashion John Wall going to play for Roy Williams. Zero."
John Wall's recruitment has been a roller coaster and this just add's another flip to the already crazy ride.

Wow, the Clifton's must love Roy. My friend that is a UNC fan was telling me how one of the "in the know" people at IC had siad they would get Wall and Leslie. It really shows how "in the know" they are over there.
This recruiting process with Wall has gotten really, really frustrating for a Wolfpack fan. He may end up with the Pack after all. Who knows?
Wall said he would consider following Calipari to Kentucky. Memphis had been his leader.
“Probably so, yeah,” he said Tuesday by phone. “I probably would [follow Calipari]. I really have to sit down and talk to my family and all that.”
I like that Clifton guy more and more
After what I have seen of Ryan. I say let Wall go somewhere else boys we have a star going in. I dont mean I would not like to have Wall at State but I only want players that want to be at State.
Ryan is only a rising senior in hs.I think it would be real nice to have John run the show next year until Ryan gets here.
John,if you happen to visit the site and read this I want you to know Wolfpack fans would welcome you with open arms and I think you would fit in nicely with our team.
WPH,
any idea on what ryan will be ranked after the summer?? Could he be a 5 star recruit after being basicly unwatched through out a career season!!!!
Sadly, I kind of doubt Harrow will be a 5-star. The problem with ranking kids earlier and earlier is that the "gurus" (hah) have a bias towards their earlier rankings and tend to give the kids who ARE current 5-stars the benefit of the doubt. Remember, for Ryan to rise, someone else has to fall.
IMO, he will be a 4-star when all is said and done, the kid puts up too many impressive numbers in a very loaded Georgia state to not get that much credit. Remember, Wall I believe at this time was ranked a 3-star coming out of the NC State camp and we all saw how he exploded in the rankings. Harrow will have to put up some impressive numbers on the AAU circuit against some elite competition to have a similar rise.
He will be a 5 *, count on it. If Iman Shumpert could be a Five then Harrow is already at that level IMO.
Wall is 5 * and legit and if we land him some how and still show Ryan the coast is clear for his freshman year then I'll dare anyone say that we could have done any better getting a coach to replace Sendek.
We have to get the elite of the talented preps players to even sniff what we want- specifically ACC banners and a third NC. The game has become completey G centric and the possibility of One year of Wall and multiple between 2-4 yrs Harrow would be electrifying.
You are all missing the point. The problem with the whole system are the blood sucking leeches that call themselves "mentors." Give me a break, they don't care about the kid, the care about the money that the kid can make for them. At least there is a coach that has more integrity and respect for the game then to bow down to a "handler" to land a quality recruit.
