Jordan Vandenberg (2009 NC State Commit) Highlights

It looks like Vandenberg's coach or someone in his family got sick of calls requesting video of Jordan and decided to post it on google video. Enjoy. (Sorry about the quality, but at least it's something)

Any word yet on who attended the NCSU Elite camp and how it went?

No media was allowed at the elite camp so we'll have to go through sources. I put some calls out last night, and as soon as we get some info you'll get it as well.

I'm excited about Vandenberg, he is real disruptive on D, breaking up passes, altering shots, rebounding, and blocking shots. He gives good screens, is a big target and passes well for a big man. He also can close to basket.. After this guy gets some work with the coaches he might some good minutes. He could very well be what the Pack has been needing for a long time.

Big V seems to have good footwork with a solid move to the basket finishing with his left hand. After seeing this video, I truly believe that with a year or two working w/ our staff he will be ready to put a hurtin on the ACC. Good find for the staff !!!!!!

I have to admit early in the video I was very worried, but as the video continued I notice improvement. Early he was timid around the basket, and looked really clumsy, but I beleive that must have been him as a junior. Later, as the video rolled he looked more aggressive on offense, and active on defense. I get the feeling this shows the kid is coach-able and maturing as a b-ball player. Early in his NCSU career, he will get banged around alot and may regress to his timid play, but the kid has shown he has the drive to get better. This video gets me very excited about his chances of being a solid contributor as his career goes along. Welcome Jordan. Keep up that effort and drive to improve.

after seeing those clips i am much more optimistic about his potential

he is not a lumbering project, but seems pretty athletic for a 7 footer

I'm disturbed by the fact that he doesn't seem to want to dunk the ball. Why is that? He is 7 foot adn the tallest player out there. Dunk the ball LKF, dunk the ball!!!!!!!!

Wow, you guys aren't even crediting the site that made the Vandenberg video happen about three weeks ago. No journalistic etiquette. No wonder the other sites keep saying you are poaching their premium info and photos. Learn some professionalism.

1)Who made this video happen? If you let us know we will be sure to credit them. We were linked to this video by one of our readers. It's on Google Video (a public video sharing site) with no information at all as to who posted it. We supposed it was Vandenberg's coach or parents. Let us know and we will credit them.

    2) If you think we are stealing any information from anybody I'd like you to please email us and let us know. When we run an article under our "Sharing the Wealth" section, it is properly cited ...much as other sties do with their "WebRun" sections.

    3) We have not, and will not steal any premium information, nor has anybody ever accused us of such. In fact we have a good relationship with James Henderson over at PP. We also have good sources and good relationships with people in and close to the program. In fact a lot of our information ends up over on the other sites and we don't say a word about it, and why should we, it's free information. However we work extremely hard, and put a lot of effort into this site, just as the other sites do.

I could have easily not posted your comment, but I wanted to let you know where we stand on the issues you brought up. If you'd like to email us to further discuss your concern please feel free.

LOL "their premium info". That is exactly why I don't frequent the other sites anymore. No one owns information. I'm closer to some aspects of the bball program than anyone at the other sites yet if I post some things there, they slap me on the wrist and claim to own what I know. It's time for someone to get a business model that progresses beyond the stone age of the internet. Better yet, don't and let WPH leave you in the dust.

WTF? Who "made this video happen?"

Don't worry about it WPH, the other sites are feeling the heat. Keep doing what you're doing. If the guys that made the video wanted recognition they'd do what you do and put their website name on it.

If they don't and they post it on youtube or google video without any information on whose it is, what do they want?

    Get outta here Anon.

As usual the only people belittling this site either exaggerate "trivial allegations" or simply make stuff up. And is anyone surprised that the dude throwing WPH under the bus posted anonymously?

I've never gotten the impression that WPH steals anything, nor do they have "poor journalism etiquette. Instead, I think WPH simply OUTWORKS other sites, and the quality of the content here shows.

Make no mistake, we're getting premium level info for FREE. I hope everyone here feels as grateful as I do.

first person asked who had attended the elite camp. Don't want to hijack the thread but thought I'd let you know that the only guy I know for sure attended was B. Daniels. Also got word that D. Wells did not attend

I like Jordan's activity. Did you guys check the middle portion? The part where they had pretty much like 5 minutes of unedited game footage? How many jumpers in a row did these kids make? Sid might want to keep this pipeline open for a while.

The video on my screen was blurry as could be, but I watched anyway, thinking that a "lumbering" seven footer would stick out like a sore thumb. Happy to say that wasn't the case at all. In my opinion he moves very well for a kid that young, and that size. More than once I had trouble picking 7' Jordan Vandenburg out of a crowd of aggressive HS BB players.

If I was watching the right kid, he looked coordinated, moves very well, and moves OFTEN, and he's not afraid to step out and make defensive play away from the basket. Also, if that was him shooting the free throws early on in the video, and while he did miss his first attempt, but the HIGH arc on the second shot was a thing of beauty. That is something that most guys his height NEVER learn to do.

Now, if anyone thinks I was watching the wrong guy the whole time, do me a favor, and just don't tell me.

Also, my word verification was "whirido", not too sure I appreciate that.

Still not sure what LTF means. Lanky tall... uh, I don't know.

Was that him shooting three's at times? I couldn't tell if it was him or an assist from him?

patience...he is a very intelligent and hard working young man. He is also 7 feet tall playing a ball game that scores at a 10 foot goal. It will happen in due time.
