Lorenzo Brown Update

We've been receiving emails and comments galore with people wanting to know "What's going on with Lorenzo Brown." We've talked to a few people including Lorenzo himself and what we can say right now is that there seems to be nothing to worry about.

Brown's been a bit frustrated lately about the rumors swirling around so we wanted to come out and set some of the record straight in his behalf.

Elite athletes in high school are usually spread very thin, with playing for their high school, dealing with the media, traveling throughout the nation for all-star games and keeping up with the classwork necessary to graduate.

Apparently there was a miscommunication and Lorenzo will have to tie up some loose ends before he heads to Raleigh for good. We've been told that there is nothing to worry about and that Brown should be good to go, although he may not be in Raleigh until a bit later in the summer.

"I'll be there next weekend" Brown told us. Lorenzo will be heading up to Raleigh to take his official visit, something he never got to do during the season since he was so busy. Although he's already signed his LOI, there's no reason to sit on an official visit when you still have one to use. This will allow Brown to get on campus, meet some of his teammates and talk to the coaches face to face.

All in all, we are told there is nothing to worry about and this can be looked upon as a closed case for the time being. We're looking forward to catching up again with Lorenzo when he gets on campus in August.

Great news. I don't want to think about where we would have been without this man.

This still scares me. I know I know WPH you have never steered me wrong!! and I want to trust the info you have recieved, but it doesnt sound good to me when a senior who is already sopose to have graduated needs to continue summer classes to become elidgeable. Weird to me Lo Brown didnt have any time all school year to come up and visit State, the school which he commited to. Has he ever visited the campus before? With him coming up next weekend to "meet some teammates and talk to coaches face to face", this doesnt sound like he knows any of the players or talk to the coachs that often? Has the staff been in concact with Zo's school/coaching? If the school is to blame for his "scheduling/misccomunicating" problems, I would like to hope State has been checking on his schools end and double checking everything. To me he is our most important recruit coming in this fall, so Sid & Co need to make sure they cross every t and dot every i while they still have the chance.
Does this mean Zo will have to take high school summer school in GA as apposed to enrolling at state and getting some college classes under his belt in summer schoool? Did he graduate from his school yet or does he have to complete more classes before they award him a deploma.

Zo is cruital to our success next year so lets get this nonsence cleared up and get him on campus ASAP!! Good reporting WPH thats more info than I have been able to get on him!!

Pack Leader, methinks you worry too much. He'll be here in August, that's all that matters.

^Dude....relax. That's a lot of questions. Clearing house troubles happen all the time, in cases like this, no news is good news. And of course the recruits don't know each other yet, they are spread all across the country. It's going to be ok.

Don't worry Pack Leader, the staff is in constant contact with all our recruits and is really keeping up with the Zo situation, you can be assured of that.

They know all the rules and what they need to do to get the players on campus, so I think right now we can just move forward and trust in them.

He's been on campus unofficially, i know that for a fact, but why not use an official visit if he has one. It's a paid trip by the University.

Lorenzo Brown is undoubtedly the most athletic and probaly most talented player in this class, but on his profile on one of the recruiting sites it says: "Has tendency to coast because he is that talented, bringing it everytime out is an area to work on"

Is there any insight you can give to this statement? Not trying to be negative, but just concerned due to players wev'e had in the past who were talented but didn't "bring it".

Is Zo ready to bleed Wolfpack red when he gets to Raleigh.

Earlier in his HS career he had this tendency according to a few different sources that covered him. From everything we've seen he's passionate, aggressive and all over the court diving for loose balls.

The kid is a smart player and a winner, and he is going to be a special one.

Good Good. Sorry to be a negative nancy up there guys! I guess Ive been a Wolfpack fan too long cause I have seen things go wrong quickly and whatever can go wrong... usually does. Tank I do agree with you in that no news is good news. Aslong as Zo takes care of his buisness this summer then thats all that matters. When i mentioned Zo not knowing the players, I ment the returning players already on the team, not the recruits coming in with him. I dont expect him to know States prospects or recruits but I found it a little suprising he didnt know any players already on the team. Alot of times that can help sway a prospect (like Painter commenting getting along well with Julius). It is smart of him to use his official visit now, since he cant inroll early this summer its good to get here and see everyone. If i remember correctly, wont Scott Wood be on campus next weekend too to start classes? And like you said WPH ITS A FREE TRIP!!!

Glad to hear that. There is probaly no need to worry about morale on this squad, with passionate players like CJ and Julius, and now Sott Wood coming in the whole culture of the team will be like night and day from last season. I believe this squad will play harder and smrter than any we've seen in some time.

Uh oh look out that means Scott Wood, Lorenzo Brown AND Deshawn Painter will be on campus at the same time!!! Get Rich Howell and Big Vandengerg to show up and we got the whole 6pack class in raleigh at the same time haha!!!! I really hope they can play some this weekend with the returners who are working so hard this offseason to improve!! Either way this weekend could really be a big bonding experience for these guys!!

Count in Josh Davis for being there unless something has changed from the last time we talked with him.

It is true. However, we spoke with Scott and he says he's "feeling fine"

We'll have more on this later.

I think people are putting too much stock in the phrase "meet the players." Zo has met the players and knows the coaches, and he told me himself at the Reebok game that he can't wait to get to NC State.

    Thanks for the update, WPH!

He already used his official visit his junior year so I have no idea what you're talking about.
