The Atlanta Celtics headed down to Miami on Sunday for the Breakdown Hoops Festival; however, they will be playing without their point guard, 2010 NC State commit, Ryan Harrow. Harrow had been out for 2 weeks at the end of June with stress fractures in his feet. He rejoined his team last week playing well, and more importantly without any pain.
After a full week of constant competition, coming on the heels of a two week layoff, Harrow and his coach have decided a few days of rest would beneficial going into the big show in Vegas.
Ryan let us know that he is feeling healthy, but felt as if it was smart for him to let his body and his feet rest for the tournament in Vegas, where he will certainly be relied upon as the Celtics face some of the best competition in the nation.

22 Responses to "Harrow Resting Up for Vegas"I like it. The kid actually knows he isn't invincible and wants to protect his future. This could be what breaks the injury curse at State. Ryan Harrow makes me like him more and more everyday.
WPH, Have you had a chance to speak to Ryan about the possibility of him and Brown coming in at the same time?
can lo brown play AAU again?
I echo what slick asked...any reaction from Harrow with what has gone down with Lo Brown?
How many hoops tournaments does one team play in a summer? Wow. These kids stay *busy*! I don't blame him for wanting to keep a somewhat reasonable pace.
Not to get anyones hopes up, but I just heard Jeff Gravely on 99.9 say that there is a small chance that Brown could end up at State this year. There is some sort of an appeal going on with the NCAA or something to that effect.
WPH, Any word on that?
I just got done exchanging some texts with Ryan and he told me that Zo told him that he was still planning on coming to coming to State and was looking forward to coming in with Ryan.
^ dont bet on that. He is however correct and Brown will appeal but we were told that it isn't anything that would be done in time for him to get qualified for next year. We were asked to keep the details of that private , so we will. If there is a chance , there would probably have to be some strings pulled but the staff isn't counting on it as far as we have heard
That last comment was in reference to Slicks question
Do any of those scenarios include Zo coming in January?
Don't want to provoke our old friend but wonder why Ken Tysiac hasn't weighed in? Maybe he's getting ready for a big story. He's never missed a chance like this before.
^^ not that we've been told.
WPH, I heard State is looking to do Midnight Madness this year. Any truth to this?
^Anon, that would be awesome, and a good tradition to get started. I have been to the one at UNC and at Appalachian and it's a lot of fun.
Wolfpackhoops, I don't see Hodge's name on the Bulls roster. Is he still playing in the summer league? Do you know anything about this? Any insight is appreciated.
We are checking about the March Madness question. Should have answer tomorrow.
Also, talked with Brandon Costner on Saturdat and he said he was enjoying playing with Hodge.
WPH, how many tshirts have you sold so far?
JerseyWolf
Maybe Ryan can transfer to Hargrave and play with Zo.
What is the tournament in Vegas and what are some of the teams/players that will be in attendance? Thanks.
When is that Vegas tournament?
Hey pal, that's on a need to know basis! What happens in Vegas, stays in... Oh wait a second; yeah, when is that tournament?
I didn't want to start a new thread.Josh Selby decommited to the Vols and there are rumors that the reason was they sent feelers out to see Harrow. It has also been said that they may get a visit by Harrow before he signs with us.Any info here WH or anyone else?
