McMillan Backs Lowe

He's turned around the abysmal Blazers, Kobe Bryant named him as one of two coaches he'd like to play for in the future, and now Nate McMillan has something to say to the fans of his alma mater.

"He is going up against some of the best coaches in basketball with Roy on one side and Coach K on the other," McMillan said. "They are just going to have to be patient with him, he knows the game he knows how to communicate and coach but it does take time."

Another former player giving an endorsement to Pack coach Sidney Lowe. The fact that coach after coach, and player after player continue to praise Lowe for his knowledge of the game can't be coincidence. Couple that with the fact that Lowe has really picked it up in the recruiting game and Pack fans should certainly feel confident in the direction of the program.

It was just a quote. I guess I shouldn't have said "article". We just wanted to site our source.

WPH, I thought it was just a quote, when I went to the link.

What threw me off was when the "anon" mentioned an "article", and then said that "you guys" left out some crucial details???

Eric, oh, I think I know the anon you're talking about. Is that the one who can't resist pointing out typo's and bad grammar?

Maybe he'd be more at home over at NegativeNancyNation. Wait a minute, maybe he is already WRITE AT HOME over there now?

OK folks, Anon was just being sarcastic, a little humor. The joke was that there was nothing more to find via the link....I was puzzled by that post at first myself then realized the humorous intent.

Lets lighten up, or we'll be letting NNN get to us by beating each other up!

^ Wow Anon - have you thought that maybe his son wanted to play for our ex-coach. Kids go to play for the coach...not the school. He build a very solid relationship with Herb when Herb was the coach at NC STATE.

I for one, have 100% faith is Sid. I see the chance to get back to being a top 10 program with him. Something I couldn't say with our previous coaches. If you guys were happy with being on the bubble every year and losing in the first round of the NCAA's then great. Good for you. Keep hating on Sid.

I suggest that all you Sid haters take a deep breath and stop being so negative. Building a top notch program doesn't happen overnight (unless you cheat like Calipari). Let's back our coach and good things will come. I'm really tired of going to different sites and reading our fans take shots at this program. It hurts what we are trying to accomplish...believe it or not.

Has anyone heard a timeline for ZoBrown's appeal? Thank-you.

  14. Wolfpack Hoops said...

I've been told that it's near certain that the appeal won't be officially ruled on until after it's too late. I think it's more than safe to assume that lo brown will be at Hargrave next year.

We'll stay on top of that in case something changes.

    redfred -

one point and i'll leave it. when you refer to "NNN" or "NegativeNancyNation" you turn this site into what you blame them for. Just a place to bash someone or something. You would do this site better justice by not responding and bashing SFN. Not being critical, and no need to respond, just a small point to consider, because I've seen other posts where you do the same thing.

I know this is WAY off topic, but has anyone heard anything about Robert Crisp wavering on his commitment? Someone seems to think he's not 100% on his commitment to the Wolfpack.

    "Anonymous said...

Anon, here at WPH they pretty much just stick to reporting the FACTS. They don't feel it's their place to chime in with their own personal slants when pointing to an article that is directly QUOTING another person.

Now, I know that may be hard for some people to understand since they're so used absorbing other blogger's opinions and taking them as the gospel. But the so-called "article" in question here was just a very SIMPLE, SHORT, and DIRECT quote, and that's it. The article didn't say, and Nate McMillian did not say, anything about what you're eluding to. And that my friend, that's exactly it was reported here, on WPH's website. They didn't leave out a thing.

Jeff, that's a very fair point, and I'll take it into consideration in the future.

My point is that WPH basically COPIED and gave a link to a QUOTE that came from someone else's mouth.

How can anyone, who isn't looking to interject his own opinion, even say, "you guys left out some crucial details" ???

    What details???

Yes, lets get another article or video up here. Would love to hear if anything has changed with our big man recruiting or our recruitment of Mychal Parker.

As to the question on Crisp, the rumor has been refuted by a number of sources including the one that really got the rumor going (Mike Farrell). At least that's what I last read.

Numerous comments have been sent in regarding a Robert Crisp video at Rivals. That video is only viewable under their premium subscription.

With that being said. One doesn't have to be a genius to look at the title of the video that says "Crisp is Solid" to get the idea. The front page of The Wolfpacker also states that Crisp came away today as the most impressive player overall today at the FBU Top Gun Camp.

ESPN reported this the other day concerning Crisp:

"NC State commit offensive lineman Robert Crisp, an ESPNU 150 Watch List selection, and defensive back commit Peter Singer are leaving Chapel Hill High for nearby Cedar Hill High, according to their father, Peter Singer Sr.

Singer Sr. had no comment beyond that, other than to say nothing has changed with the pair's verbal commitment to the Wolfpack."

I have a feeling people are starting rumors about R Crisp not 100% committed because of his half brother, who is also committed to state, getting arrested last week with marijuana charges, gun charges, and i believe no registration going through a traffic stop. Stupid on his part and IMO state should drop his 'ship and back away from him until his legal troubles are taken care of. This is a serious offense and im not sure why a 16/17 year old is driving with a gun and pot on him, esp with his future looking so bright. I have heard rumors the only reason he was even offered was because of his brother and that if Singler went to state, then Crisp would also follow. I hope Crisp has enough of a head on his shoulder to understand he has to think of his future and if that means leaving someone behind because of their dumb decisions then so be it.

Not to beat a dead horse, but I'm pretty certain that that follow up comment up there is the same "anon" that posted at the top of the thread. I would also add that anyone who considers that comment as an attempt at "sarcasm", might need to look up the definition of the word more than I do.

Anyway, my appologies. I promise that I'm going to resist the urge to make any references about NNN. Uh, well, at least until BB season starts anyway.

For as much care as we take not to bash anyone associated with our basketball around here it might be wise to do the same for our incoming football players.

Pack Leader, those comments you made were completely out of line. You clearly have no concrete information on the facts surrounding Singer's case and you should not speak about it until you do. To question his ability and whether or not he should have a scholarship is no different than people bashing Josh Davis getting a scholarship. TOB is standing behind Pete, and that's good enough for me. Some of you will and should feel ridiculous for trashing Singer when the details of his situation come out.

The kind of crap that hurts the basketball program does the same to the football program.

    ^Anon,

Thinking back on all of the multitude negative OPINIONS that I have read regarding the BB program, the BB players, and Sidney Lowe especially, keeps me from getting too upset about what Pack Leader had to say in his comment.

While I agree that negative and groundless *opinions* can do much harm to any athletic program, I do not have any problem whatsoever with someone coming on a blog and simply stating FACTS that they can readily back up, whether those facts happen to be negative or positive.

I don't know whether or not Pack Leader is certain in what he's talking about or not, but either way I can assure that I have constantly heard much worse said involving a certain group of young BB players who just happen to currently hold the highest academics rating among it's peer group in the ACC.

I am sorry for offending my fellow wolfpackers. Those who frequent this site know I regularly comment and I always try to keep comments positive and never throw around false statements(ex when an anon poster swears Wall will commit by the end of the week even though clearly has no idea)Although it hurts me to say the FACTS about Singlers case, I didn't spout off false information nor did I give my opinion, except for the fact that I believe a 16/17 year old should NEVER drink/drive/have illegal drugs. PERIOD. If Philip Rivers himself had these charges I would still stand by my statement of that is improper behavior. That I will stand behind 100%. I got my info straight from a personal friend/Chatham county officer. BUT if you dont believe what I say.....

    http://www.wralsportsfan.com/ncsu/story/5659747/

Ultimately the only reason I brought this up was the rumors of Crisp wavering in his commitment, which is UNTRUE. IN MY OPINION these rumors were brought about because of his half brother getting arrested and his status for NCSU now being questioned by the media.

I believe some commenters need to stop attacking fellow fans for info they may or may not like to hear. But IF you do have a problem with what I say please inform me and I will try to clear up statements.

    Go Pack!

Don't worry about Crisp... Since the rumor came out, he has explicitly said he is still coming to State.

Paraphrasing, he said he gave his word to NC State and TOB, and that he keeps his word. He said he had no idea where the rumors were coming from, but he was absolutely committed to the Wolfpack.

I have heard the rumor was started over on the South Carolina boards and local papers (SC papers), by apparently, a hopeful bottom feeder of a fan.

"anon", what'd you say if we have 50 or so Pack Leaders on this site? I mean, who would your last comment pointed at? Or even a hundred redfred's on this site, scary I know, but it'd be pretty hard to tell who you're talking to, or to know which direction they're comments where coming from in general, now wouldn't it?

It's not hard, don't be scared, just take a name and be willing to stand by your comments.
