Quincy Miller Update From Vegas

Quincy Miller is a name that you better get used to hearing. This kid is the total package. Miller stands 6'8 and patterns his game after Kevin Durant. This consensus 5-star recruit is perched at the top of the NC State coaching staff's wish list for 2011. Last season Quincy averaged a double-double (13.4 points and 11.8 rebounds) as a Sophomore for Quality Education Academy (Winston-Salem, NC) helping guide them to a 26-7 record. He also led his squad with 2.9 blocks per game.

This Top-10 talent has been causing quite a stir on the AAU circuit this summer, playing ball with D-ONE. With Miller claiming a gaudy 100+ scholarship offers, you can better believe that Coach Harris is intently watching Quincy out in Vegas.

We talked with Quincy today and he told us that he had 17 points and 11 boards in D-ONE's first game in Vegas, which happened to be a 4 point loss. We'll try to continue to keep you updated on how Miller is doing out in Vegas.

Seems like a longshot right now. Think Duke and Wake Forest are leading for him currently but there is a long road ahead and a lot can happen.

^ the coaches are going to push hard for Miller, and while it will be a long process most likely, it would be worth all the time and travel to show this kid how bad they want him. He is a legit talent that will be a sure star.

We'll be tracking Miller like he's one of the top priorities, because as far as our staff is concerned, he is.

If we get involved I think that we could be a factor. We are going to have two studs at the guard positions and 2011 could be the year that we make a huge leap (with Ryan and Lorenzo as sophomores). Bringing in Ryan, Lorenzo, and maybe Luke Cothron could be a nice foundation to make the leap...Miller could be enticed.

The staff isn't pushing for Miller, and Brian Clifton has his influence all over him now. Don't waste the effort on him. You can't ignore a recruit all during the high school season, watch him blow up into a national recruit and then just jump in now unless he's a life-long Wolfpack fan, which he isn't being from North Chicago, Ill. Great talent though overranked at the moment.

    ^anon,

While it won't be any easy task to reel in Miller, you are wrong in saying that the staff isn't pushing for him.

From what we hear the staff likes their chances...

Do mean like how we liked our chances with Derrick Favors? John Wall? DeMarcus Cousins? C.J. Leslie?

How come everyone with an inside source and knowledge about what the coaches are doing, always post as anonymous on here. You guys should force everyone to register before they post.. IMHO

agree its easy for people to spout off when they are anonymous.

Look, I'm posting as anonymous b/c I have never posted here and never will again...

but...I just want everyone out there to know one thing...

DeMarcus Cousins gave a verbal to Sidney when Sidney visited him, which is why these "Our staff likes our chances" things started in the first place.

If the mens basketball staff is heavily recruiting a player and spending the schools money then they obviously like their chances.

"I'm posting as anonymous b/c I have never posted here and never will again..."

Thats the best thing ive ever heard. You bring absolutly nothing to this website or this university. Im sure TarholeFan.com would love to hear your rants, but nobody here is interested.

I dont know why I should believe anything you say, but just to apease you ill play along. IF Sid did recieve a verbal from Cousins during his visit, then YES the staff SHOULD have liked its chances for obvious reasons (mainly being the player TOLD the staff he was going to commit duhh). It wasnt stated that it was a Done Deal or Finalized by any stretch of the imagination but to say they like their chances really isnt going out on a limb to me.

Just like we heard the staff a few months ago say they liked their chances with Deshawn Painter even though he was visiting VT and Maryland at the same time. That means they are in good standing with the student and have a good shot at landing him.

Finally please keep your word, dont post here again.

Or when they landed JJ Hickson even when we weren't in his top 3 at the height of the battle. There are going to be FAR more big fish that we don't get than we do get. That's just the nature of the game...and math. The kid only picks one school, that means 15 other schools lose. UNC, UCLA, Duke, Kentucky...it happens to all of them.
