If you live in the Huntersville or Gastonia area, and you have children that are interested in the game of basketball, then they have a great chance coming up to learn from one of the best. Rodney Monroe, NC State's All-Time leading scorer, will be hosting a camp in each town in early August. On August 3-7, Monroe will be hosting a camp at his home base, Lake Norman Christian School in Huntersville, North Carolina. Last year was Rodney's first year as the head middle school boy's basketball coach at Lake Norman. Children ages 6-9 will have camp in the morning (9am-Noon) and the older children (10-15) will have camp in the afternoon (1-4pm). The cost of the camp is $125 per child or $200 for two children. Click here to register.
Rodney will also be hosting a camp in the Gastonia area on August 12-14. The camp will be held at Gastonia Central YMCA on 615 West Franklin Boulevard. The camp will run from 9am-noon each day and be open to children ages 6 to 14. The first 50 children that register will get to go to camp free of charge. If you are interested call 704-865-8551.

4 Responses to "Rodney Monroe Camp"That cover says it all. We used to be a fixture in the ACC race.
Why is Monroe's jersey not retired? I never got that.

My personal favorite Wolfpacker off all-time. All the best to "Ice" as he embarks on his new career path.
Would you want your 9 yo to learn a dribble-stop-pop from any one else?
As alway's WPH, thanks for sharing this info. In response to first post here, there will be a time not too far off where WPH's will be doing some spots on soon to be former Wolfpackers that will perform in the ACC like "Fire & Ice" or Julius Hodge or Gug's.
Then it's on to the next level of success by bringing in recruits to raise our third banner, but we've got to win an ACC or two outright.
My parents live in Huntersville. When I was visiting them last year for Christmas, I actually ran into Rodney Monroe down at the rec center. Real Nice guy.
He was doing one on one instruction with a kid. I was going to challenge him to a one on one game but I was kind of sore after working out.
