Numbers From The Jimmy V Classic

This past weekend marked the 16th year of the Jimmy V Golf Classic. According to WRAL, the Classic has raised and donated $14 million over the past 15 years to the V Foundation for Cancer Research. Coach Valvano's brother, Nick, told WRAL that 11,000 people made it out the Classic this past weekend and that $500,000 was raised as well.

Coach Lowe was excited to have the Classic back in the Raleigh area. The Classic took a two year hiatus down in Pinehurst, but returned to the area this year playing for the first time on the newly opened Lonnie Poole Golf Course, which is located on NC State's Centennial Campus.

“It’s back home,” N.C. State head coach Sidney Lowe told WRAL during his round Sunday afternoon, “and it’s where it should be…I’m excited that N.C. State and Jimmy V are together.”

We concur with Coach Lowe. It's good to have the Classic back in Raleigh, especially on NC State's campus. It is encouraging to see the great work that this Classic has done over the past 16 years for Cancer research.

Also, important to note that the V foundation is FULLY endowed. Every penny goes that much closer to the cure. Not many charities can taught this, it is not only for an extraordinary cause but run by some very smart people.

Hate to say this on the post...but I don't really know where else to put it...

Thewolfpacker.com is apparently announcing that Mychal Parker has made his decision. I don't know which school it is, as when you click on his name it doesn't give any story. At this point and from the stuff I've read, I would assume he just committed to Maryland.

I was curious if you had info, WPH?

    OH NO!!!

Well we sat on our hands and let Parker get scooped up by another ACC School. I had a feeling that would happen.

Mark my words that one will hurt us down the line......
