Centennial Advances to Championship Game...Walton Misses by a Hair


-Yesterday, Centennial High beat Butler with ease, winning 72-47. Lorenzo Brown had 20 points and he scored half of his points in the first quarter. He also added 11 assists, 8 rebounds, and 3 steals. Centennial advances to the championship game of the Prep All-Star's Invitational in Charlotte today at 7:30pm. Centennial is now 5-1 on the year and Lorenzo Brown is now averaging 20.67 ppg.

It should be noted that Centennial is looking like a power house as they have won by an average of 30 points per game in their 5 victories on the year.

-Walton High missed the championship by a hair last night in a gut-wrenching loss in double overtime to United Faith 110-109 (2OT). Ryan Harrow did all that he could to lead his squad to victory, scoring 26 points in the fourth quarter and two overtime periods, and finished the game with 38 points. He also tallied 12 assists on the night. Glen Rice Jr., the son of NBA star Glen Rice, who is committed to Georgia Tech, had 28 points in the game, including a three-point basket at the end of regulation to send the game into overtime. Walton plays today at 6pm against Butler in the Third-Place game.

Walton is now (4-3) on the year and Ryan Harrow is averaging a gaudy 32.43 ppg. It should be noted that two of their three losses have come in double overtime.
