Word of God Loses in Finals

After beating Rocky Mount in the first round of the Glaxo, Word of God went on to beat St. Raymond on Monday night by 20 points, 63-43. C.J. Leslie led the team with 15 points, and he scored 14 these in the fourth quarter. Because he got in quick foul trouble during the first minute of the game, he only played 1 minute in the first three quarters of play. He came on strong in the 4th to propel WOG to victory. John Wall had 14 points.

Word of God played again last night in the championship game against Christ School and lost 76-73 in a nail biter. John Wall led WOG in scoring with 28 points and C.J. Leslie followed with 18. But Mason Plumlee (Duke Commit) took down the Holy Rams with 20 points and also netted the MVP award.

Word of God is now 7-6 on the year. C.J. Leslie is averaging 17.33 ppg and John Wall is averaging 18.33 ppg.
