Josh Davis' Senior Campaign

We hope you enjoy this video. We went by Athens yesterday and Coach Clemons gave us this highlight tape. One of the students at Athens Drive High School put this together and did an excellent job. In our opinion, this kid was a diamond in the rough just sitting in Raleigh. He has unbelievable athletic ability, a soft touch around the basket, the ability to control his body while he is in the air and a solid post game. He also shows off his shot-blocking ability a little bit at the expense of Garrius Adams (who is headed to Miami).

While we were there yesterday we got the chance to catch up with Josh. We can testify to what Coach Clemons told us a couple days ago. Josh is an incredibly nice and polite young man who carries himself with humility and class.

We'll have an interview with Josh up on the site in the near future.

Something about him reminds me of Josh Powell. Maybe if he could grow another inch he would have that type of game.

Would you please find out his wingspan? Large wingspans go a long way in playing bigger than you are. Thanks for all your hard work.

Josh really attacks the rim. I'm worried about him facing bigger competition in the paint. Nothing outside of three feet. We'll see. Thanks Hoops for all your work.

Some great dunks, but not a single shot from outside of 10 feet. Unless things change, a 6'5" player needs more game than I have seen in these highlights. It ain't high school anymore.

I'll say this again. We visited with Josh yesterday and he is not 6'5. He is easily 6'6 and with his basketball shoes on really is more like 6'7.

He has very broad shoulders and from the video I can see why Sid liked this kid. He is very athletic, has nice touch and is a lefty. He has the frame to put on some serious bulk.

We'll try to see if we can get his wingspan today.

    To answer The Eagle:

We are aware that this video mainly features Josh around the block and the rim. We will have a new video up soon that will feature more of his perimeter game. Josh does have a nice midrange jumper.

Keeping it on the Josh Davis tip- no offense to any other future recruits but I'm always more interested in Athletes who know that they want to wear the Red & White and are getting ready now.

From all early accounts he sounds like a good to great athlete that is maybe due to gain an inch vertically and will definitly prosper under a weight lifting program (Spot for J Thomas and you'll get a work out).

Very importantly he sounds like an solid kid from the shoulders up. Look at the three coming in and Mays, Williams, Thomas and Gonzalez and you begin to see that Lowe and his staff are going after the players who show a strong character and exhibit hard work attitudes.

Keep in mind that Kendall Smith is a Clark scholar who is not a bad baller and the football player Cato-Smith is very athletic and well spoken. Practice is actually going to get intense at the Dail later this year.

    Big Cip,
Thank you so much! We really appreciate it. We are really working hard to make this your #1 spot for all things NC State Basketball. It is a lot of work but we're getting so much positive feedback that it's really worth it. We just want to keep pushing a positive movement upon the Wolfpack Nation. We need it and our team needs it! Thanks for helping us keep this thing going!
