Weekly Update From The League

Josh Powell - Josh Powell earned the picture spot in this article by playing two of his best games of the year this week. In a 99-89 win over the Grizzlies last Tuesday night Josh had 8 points and 8 boards in 18 minutes of play. Josh responded on Friday night with his second best effort of the season. He had 14 points, 6 rebounds and 3 blocks in 19 minutes of play. He shot 53% in both games. Josh is definitely becoming a more integral part of the Lakers dynamic. He averaged 18.5 minutes per game last week which is a dramatic increase from his 10.8 season average.

J.J. Hickson - J.J. saw action in 4 games last week averaging 12 minutes per contest, which is on par with his season average. Hopefully this week will be better for J.J. He couldn't quite get in the groove last week as he shot 27% from the field and averaged 2 TO's a game. His statistical highs for the week were a 5 point output against Miami on Monday and a 4 rebound effort against the Bucks on Wednesday.

Cedric Simmons - Our boy Ced City didn't touch the court this week. Hopefully Ced will get a chance to show his stuff this week.

scout.com has reported that John Wall has named a leader, and it isn't Baylor.
