Former NC State Basketball star Andrew Brackman threw a gem stone last night. The problem is that his brilliant effort was not accompanied by any run support from the Riverdogs bats. Earlier last week the Brack-Attack had a rocky start as the opening day starter giving up 5 earned in 5 innings pitched (5 K's). He settled down in his second start going 5 strong innings giving up only 2 earned runs, while racking up 4 K's. Last night was definitely his best effort thus far in his young professional career. For one, it was his first 'Quality Start.' Brackman pitched 6 innings, gave up 2 earned runs, and fanned 8. He also showed unbelievable poise by not walking a single batter. Brackman lowered his ERA 1.06 points in last nights game alone. Unfortunately Brackman's brilliance earned him his second loss of the season as the Riverdogs lost 3-1. Despite the outcome of the game, the Brack Attack seems to have the wheels turning. He seems to be a bit of a K-Machine as well, dicing up 17 batters in 16 innings pitched. This kid is going to be nasty.
