Improvement for Brackman
Former Wolfpack basketball star and current Yankee farmhand Andrew Brackman took the mound for the Charleston Riverdogs again last night and had some success. Andrew improved on his first outing by going 5 innings, giving up 2 earned runs on 4 hits, while striking out 4. Brackman got the "no-decision" but the Riverdogs took the loss 8-6. Brackman continues to work his way back from Tommy John Surgery (elbow surgery) and while he fell behind on most hitters he was able to work out of jams with his mid 90's fastball and brutal curve. The Yankees have the Riverdogs under strict orders to keep Andrews pitch count in check to ensure his elbow holds up (which is why he's only going 5 innings) We are planning on taking a road trip in the coming month to catch Andrew take the mound in Charleston, get an interview and hopefully bring you some video.
