LaQuinton Ross and Rodney Hood, two 2011 prospects who hold offers from the Pack out of Mississippi, were both held out of this weekends Real Deal on the Hill down in Little Rock, Arkansas. They both play for a stacked MBA Elite team. Both of them suffered ankle injuries in tournament las weekend. Ross scored 56 point in the game last weekend in which he injured his ankle. Dropping 56 in an AAU game is down right silly. MBA Elite lose a whole lot of offense when Ross and Hood don't suit up. Their Coach Omhar Carter had this to say about the tandem in the Arkansas Democrat Gazette.
"He scored 56 points in that game and averages 30 for us," MBA Coach Omhar Carter said. "We drove here, but if by some miraculous reason he got better, we'd fly him here."
Rodney Hood, a 6-8 guard, is also out with an ankle injury. Carter said Hood was averaging 20 points a game.
"That's 50 points a game," Carter said. "If we had those two, it would have been a completely different game."
The talent in the 2011 class is ripe down in Mississippi and Coach Lowe is all over it. Both these kids are 6'8 and they have mismatch written all over them. Ross is the #1 Small Forward in the class and Rodney Hood is a 4 Star recruit that ran the point for this team at the Boo Williams Invitational. Coach Lowe's keen eye for talent never ceases to amaze us.
