NC State Commit Ryan Harrow vs. Pope

On January 20th, 2009, the Walton Raiders defeated Pope 88-68. Ryan Harrow torched his opponent for 33 points and 10 assists. We've got plenty of Ryan footage on the horizon.

**And make sure you check back tomorrow. We just got our hands on some good Lorenzo Brown footage we'll be up late cutting and editing for you.

^ thanks Bigmac and glad to have you. Good question, but right now we're getting a few bucks off of ads and hoping for some donations.

    ^wolfpack4eva,
The fact that he's this good AND he's a class act really get us excited about seeing him in red and white.

wph, with regards to the money you receive from ads... do you get paid based on how many click throughs that ad receives? I'll click through every time I come by the site if it helps.

Wolfpack hoops I think that ryan wont be able to add weight but will get stronger me and ryan are the same size (his arms are longer lol) and our bodies wont allow us to gain much weight but we do get stronger by lifting that will help himstand the blows of acc look at Rondo he lis thin but I know he is strong

^^No our advertisers pay us by month...but thanks for thinking about that haha

^ Anybody, no matter the size or frame can add weight with the right diet (loads of protein) and a strenuous workout regiment. Ryan wears a size 14 shoe so you can expect him to grow another inch or two (or three) and the staff will make sure he puts on some muscle.

I can't wait till this kid gets here. BTW, this is by far the best NC State site I have ever been a part of. I do not like the other so called fan sites where everyone seems to constantly bash Lowe, OBrien, and NC State in general. I'm really enjoying reading the positive comments. Great Website WPH! I enjoy the great stories and insight that is Wolfpack sports.

    Flash,
A few scouts have said that the 3 things Ryan needs to work on are:

    -his size
    -his left hand
    -being a true point guard

I disagree partly with the last two. From watching him play a lot on video and a few times live I'd have to say that his left hand is no weakness. He handles the ball extremely well with both hands and can go strong to his left..however he does need to work on finishing with his left.

As far as being a true point guard, I think Ryan is just that. The scouts that mentioned that must not have seen him play but once or twice. The kid is a pass first point that can score at will, and that type of player doesnt come around much. If you watch all the videos we have on here you can see that his vision and passing ability are both way above average. He scores around 27pts per game but it's not a ball hogging 27. It's a 27 that comes in very quick bursts. The rest of the time he is always looking for the open man and makes some eye popping passes on the break.

    GoPack,
Thank you so much! We really appreciate your kind words and support. We started this site for that very reason. We want the positive fans to have a voice, and we want to be the site that helps push this positive culture to the forefront of this University.

I have played with ryan and he gets everybody into the game but he can score at will I think he rarley goes left because when he goes right he always beats the defender I have seen him blow by the best players in the state

I have heard some say that defense is one of his weaknesses. Would you say that defense is something he really needs to make a big improvement on?

^ As far as defense goes, I think he can be a good defender. He knows what he's doing on D but putting on some more muscle would go a long way in helping him defend in the ACC.

I don't think defense, or going left will be a problem once he gets to State. He's capable of both and remember he's only a rising Senior in HS. His #1 thing to work on, honestly, is his strength, and I'm sure he will do that.

I love watching videos of this kid but I'm concerned that he might pull a Leslie and head for the hills. To me, when Leslie got reevaluated and jumped in the recruit rankings he thought he might get a chance at a bigger program (State should be plenty for this kid). I hope Harrow doesn't do the same because I know he will have an instant impact on Sid's program. But if his stock keeps going up like this I'm afraid bigger fish will come calling and convince him to rescind on his scholarship. Are my fears legitimate or is this kid here to stay? Trying not to beat a dead horse but this website is amazing I check it 3 and 4 times a day. Go pack.

Ryan has consistently said he will be here if Sid is here. Also, he is very good friends with Lorenzo Brown. So he has some things that really tie him to the program that Leslie doesn't.

^ Harrow isn't going anywhere. He has repeatedly said that as long as Coach Lowe is here he is coming to NC State. Don't worry about that. Also, he is our Number One recruiter right now. He is going to help us bring in some SERIOUS talent with him.

In the mean time, DON'T RUN OUR COACH OUT OF TOWN. Sid is doing some great things on the recruiting trail. This is where winning starts (recruiting). In 2-3 years this program is going to be back where it should be in the top 15 year after year.....patience is a virtue.

Relax Matt. As long as Sid and Zo Brown, Ryan's God brother, are here then Ryan will be too.

We've talked to Ryan, his mom, and his brother. They all are completely on board with Sidney Lowe and NC State. Ryan has also told us and it's in an interview we did earlier...

"Tell the Wolfpack fans not to worry...I'm not going anywhere"

"To me, when Leslie got reevaluated and jumped in the recruit rankings he thought he might get a chance at a bigger program"

Leslie has always been a top 20 player in the nation since his sophmore year. Him decommiting had nothing to do with him having a low ranking/or getting moved up. As WPH said, Ryan is 100% commited and it excites me as a fan to see a player feel so strongly about his future. I truly believe Wall got leslie to decommit and re evaluate his future, which is a shame but if thats something he wants to do, go right ahead. Clearly it hasnt effected recruiting because we are now recruiting 2 players ranked higher than leslie. GO PACK
