Pangos Dunk Session

We wanted to give you guys a front row seat to everything we witnessed here at Pangos. Here is a random Dunk Session that broke out for the cameras on Saturday afternoon.

***We are about to leave for LAX to catch our 6:45 flight to Chicago, then to DC, and then to Raleigh. We won't be back to a computer until around 7pm tonight. Thanks for tuning in all weekend and I hope you guys were satisfied with the coverage of Pangos. Thank you all again for sending us out here, we really appreciated it and the player really appreciated it as well. Keep checking all week because we're nowhere near done with coverage of this event. We've got more highlights, interviews and a special "Where are they Now?

Deuce had the best dunks but I would say Ryan was not to far behind. He has some good hops for a PG. I like the fact that we're recruiting Dezmine Wells. I like to see strong point guards that can play D. It reminds me of Chauncey Billups and he's one of the least appreciated PG, IMO. I wouldn't mind having Demarco Cox in the post either. Bigs with that size/weight seem to be very productive in the paint. Reminds me of Pitt

that was fun to watch... maybe i am biased, but RH's dunks were most impressive b/c of his elevation.
His athleticicm has exploded the last 6 months!!!

    Ryan has mad hops.

Sid needs to be all over Deuce, trying to get him to Raleigh.

Don't get me wrong, I like to watch a good slam as much as anyone, but I like to see them within the context of an actual game. I don't know about this kind of "Hey, look at ***ME*** !!!" stuff, it gets old to me in a hurry.

I know, I'm a dinosaur, but I remember back when the college game was played without the dunk altogether, And believe it or not, it just might have been a better game back in those days.

    Tim,
I have been REALLY impressed by Dezmine lately. We got to talk to him for the first time this weekend and he's a great kid too. The fact that he's not more talked about is beyond me. Yeah he could work on his jumper, but with his body, quicks and athleticism you're already getting an elite level talent IMO.

    sf59-
Talked to Ryan about that very thing. He said before last year he began training his legs a lot more. Doing squats and such and he said it made such a huge difference in his athleticism.

    Anonymous-
Our bad on the PJ Hairston typo. We'll try to fix it.

    Anyonymous 3-
Wake has a class of about 4 or 5 of really talented guys. We talked to them all out at Pangos and they're some real good guys. JT Terrell's jumper is just so silky. He's going to be a real handful when he gets to the ACC. When he gets hot, he gets white hot and really won't miss. Melvin Tabb is very good too and talked to us a bit about his decision. He was a State recruit and had State on his final list but with the 2010 scholarship situation State just wasn't ready to commit a scholarship. I like Tabb's game and he'll probably be a big time contributor by his junior year. They also have Travis McKie who is is a real character, and is going to be a great team guy for Wake.
...Duke on the other hand has probably one of the better players in the class in Andre Dawkins. The kid already has an NBA stroke and loves the highlight reel dunk...his drawback? He's very arrogant on the court and disrespectful to the refs. I know there's a fine line between confidence and cocky, but he surely crossed it on more than one occasion this weekend.

    Anonymous 4,
While Duece is a constant highlight reel on the break, he has some work to do before he's going to grab an offer from the Pack. He needs to find a true position and hone his jumpshot quite a bit. The upside and athleticism is there, it's now just a matter of hard work for Deuce.

    Anonymous 5,
I think you guys are going to really like these interviews. Most of the guys are really open with us and .....nevermind, you'll see.

OK WPH, I'm getting kind of excited now, let's see those interviews!!!

Wow, for a moment there I got a little confused and almost slipped up it, felt like I was talking to my wife or something. But I corrected it, and typed the word, "interviews", on the end instead.

Out of curiosity WPH, could you describe the type of conduct that you were referring to concerning Andre Dawkins? If not, I perfectly understand, just was curious if it was mouthing off to the refs or just bad looks or what?

^ yeah. Basically every single call had to go his way or he'd toss the ball away from the ref, or walk up to him and get in his ear. This was a showcase type camp and everyone understood that ever foul was going to be called. Everyone except Dawkins.

Wow...he'll fit in perfectly at Duke. Does he know how to flop yet?

He's a Duke commit. He likely does know how to flop, but if not it will be the first thing he learns. Is he related to Johnny Dawkins?

Maybe I'm wearing blinders, but after watching that dunk-video a few times over the last few days, RH's cameo is the best. He's real quick, and despite being small, he has some amazing hops. I think he won that dunk contest.

And as evident from the many full-game highlights, Harrow's a smart player. He'll make the easy pass, or he'll pull off the trick-pass. But he also has ability to take it to the basket. He's a scorer. With his current size, he'll have to work harder for the points in the ACC, but I have no worries about him being a very effective ACC PG.

We're lucky to have an athlete of his caliber, and his integrity 'running w/ the Pack'.
