When asked what he likes about NC State he answered quickly with two words..."Head Coach". That says a lot.

haha lovin the part about Ryan. Keep at it man! Bug em till they commit! Great job on the interview WPH. It would be awesome if we can get him to commit over the fall, that could potentially help out in getting Leslie on board or even Parker/Barton. I'm sure Cothron knows that he can be someone who can lure more recruits to come to the pack the same way Ryan has been doing.

WPH do you get the feeling Luke really likes NC State or is he just mentioning us because you guys are Wolfpack Hoops?

He needs to grow the box and fade again

I really wish we had more scholorships available for next year, but I think we'll only be able to get one more guy to go with Harrow.

WPH, you say that if a player of Luke, Will, or Parker's caliber wanted to go to State that Sid would find a way to make it work.

Do you really believe that we could possibly get 3 or 4 guys next year? I just don't see it happening, but you guys know a hell of a lot more about it than I do.

BTW, I've been posting as P Sizzle.
Just wanted to change my name.

^ Although it looks like we only have one scholarship, I can see the staff being able to grab 2 more players for 2010. So which 2 do you feel NC State would need most out of this 4?....

    Cothron
    Barton
    Parker
    Leslie

Barton and Leslie are more wild cards as we really have no idea where they want to end up.

    - I can genuinely say that I don't think that Luke is just being polite. Please don't take this as any sort of guarantee.

-There is always the chance that a player could receive a medical hardship, or have his scholly changed to academic.

-To everyone that reads this...take notice that P Sizzle is now DAT DUDE.

We have a good shot with Parker, Leslie, and Cothron. IMO, we are still on the outside looking in with Will Barton. Plenty of time for all of that to change. If we only take one more, then I feel it will be CJL.

It's really great to be getting this kind of attention (and commitments) from top flight recruits.

It may take another year or even two for new talent to gel into a top 15 - or better - team, but it cetainly looks like we are on our way.

This is the most optimistic I've been about Wolkpack hoops in about 20 years!

WPH, I am fairly certain that you can't switch a player to an academic scholarship.

As for which Player would be the best fit for our needs that really depends on how the freshman turn out. Barton, Parker, and Leslie are all wings (Leslie is projecting to be a wing but currently plays PF) and then you have Cothron playing the PF/C. I am inclined to go with one of the wings and then anyone else we could get if possible would be icing on the cake.

^ Academic Scholarship is not the only option. There are a lot of ways to make room on a team. Remember, Sidney needs see some success and soon. He's not going to turndown premier players that he feel can help the team.

I'd prefer Leslie and Barton, but I believe our chances are better with Cothron and Parker.

I just wish we had 5 available.

    Cothron
    Leslie
    Parker
    Barton
    Harrow

What is the latest on lorenzo brown qualification? Will he have to go to summer school to get qualified?

So many players have said that Sid is the reason they like the Pack.

    Sid is a "recruiting beast".

    DAT DUDE,
That would be an amazing class. I would think that it would have to be the #1 overall class.

Any updates on whether or not Ryan is going to have either of Parker or Cothron playing with him and the Celtics? Thought I had read that somewhere at some point.

Cothron never was rumored to play with the Celtics but Parker was. Actually we were talking to Ryan right before he talked to Mychal about joining the celtics. However I think Mychal is going to stick with his old team instead of switching over to Atlanta. Theres just too much talent there and for a guy trying to stand out and earn a 'ship, there's simply not enough ball to go around w/ the Celtics.

When does the dead period end so that Coach Lowe can see Parker play?

Did you happen to get a video interview with ryan even though he is already commited? I dont think i have ever seen him on video not playing basketball. Id love to see how he acts being just ryan. Just wondering WPH great stuff!!!

^ we will, however we didnt get one at Pangos. It was hard to catch up with them during the first 2 days since everything was so packed together and busy.

On day 3 there was a lot of down time and that's when we did most of our interviews. Ryan had to leave early to catch a plane so he was in a rush that final day and we didn't want to bother him.

He'd no doubt be find with doing a video interview, so we'll catch up with him at another event soon and get one. Sorry Pack Leader!

BUT....we do have a few more interviews to get out to you guys along with some other footage of Pangos and a "where are they now" that you won't be expecting.

Whats the over/under on when we'll see PackPride and TheWolfpacker start using this idea too?

^never happen. they gotta make money

WPH, you can't move an athletic scholarship to academic. If a player loses an academic scholarhship, however, you can place him on athletic scholarship.

A more likely means of attrition is for somebody to transfer. State has had somebody transfer in like 9 of the last 10 years, and almost every program in the country has the same kind of numbers.

Besides making a fine showing on the hardwood in '09 and Lowe building on the strong relation he has started with Luke one other aspect could boost our efforts with him. If Tracy can put together a strong and consistent body of work then the argument could be made that Coach Lowe will help his bigs get to their ceiling as well as can be expected anywhere.

In his videos, Luke plays fundmentally sound basketball. He has all the skills to be a good college PF/C.

If he continues to progress on his aggressiveness, he could be a great college player.

I don't try to speculate about what will happen in the future with recruiting, but I'm really optimistic about Mr.Cothron.
