NBA Summer League Update (7/15/09)

The Bulls had the early game yesterday against the Bucks. After losing in their summer opener two nights ago, they ran into a Bucks team that entered the night with a 3-0 record. Brandon Costner never quite got going last night, shooting 1-6 from the field, for a total of 3 points in 14 minutes of play. The Bulls lost to the Bucks 72-87 and they will play again Friday night against the Thunder at 8:30pm.

Last night Cedric Simmons didn't necessarily splatter the box score with points, but he did leave an impression on the defensive side of the ball. Cedric had 9 rebounds and 2 blocks to go along with his 4 points (1-4 FG) in 20 minutes of play. The Nuggets picked up their first win of the summer, defeating the Wizards 77-70. Ced City will be back in action on Friday night against the Trailblazers at 10pm.

Not to hyjack the thread but last week while I was on vacation out of town, a fellow commenter wrote about Lee fowler doing a segment on 850 the buzz and Lee was quoted as saying Sid already has 1 solid commitment (Ryan Harrow) and in the next week or so we should expect another commitment.

My question to you WPH or fellow bloggers, Who is this player we are so close to getting a verbal from? If we are not close to getting one soon, Why would he go all over the airwaves and say that we were? Could this just be Lo Brown commiting to next year or is it someone who we have been following for a long time (ex Leslie/Cothron) It just seems odd to me that an athletic director would go on the radio and say pack fans should expect a big time commitment w/o having some inside knowlege or atleast getting word from the staff.....

Once again sorry its off topic but Im very curious to what yall think.

i could be wrong, but i'm pretty sure lee fowler didn't say that. he said someting about a promising lead on another recruit. i think.

Anon you may be 100% correct, like I said I was not intown to hear the interview in person so I am going from hear-say. Either way if its a good lead or a commitment, who is this player??? Lee wouldnt have said this on public radio w/o some facts to back this up...

WPH your the one with the inside connections.... what say you??

Fowler did say they were close with another recruit but did NOT say anything about a time frame (in the next week). That pic of Brandon is about ridiculous.

This seems to be another case of hear say slanted against Lee Fowler. I listened to the interview, he said nothing about next week, next month or next year. He simply said the coaches were in good relations with another player. As for speculation for who it is, I beleive Mychal Parker is close to scheduling an official visit. Pete Strickland is visiting him now. Luke Cothron has us in his top 5. There is no real news here.
I am so glad Brandon is getting this shot with the Bulls, and it is great to see Ben doing so well. I really hate it for Courtney. He seems to be struggling. Any news on Hodge, will he be joining the Bulls in Vegas?
