Last night 2 NC State alum saw action in the NBA Summer League. For starters, Ben McCauley continued to see significant playing time, as the Lakers beat the Thunder 74-68. In 21 minutes of play, Big Ben had 8 points (4-10 FG), 4 rebounds (3 offensive) and 4 steals. Through 4 games Ben is averaging 12 points and 7 boards in 25 minutes per contest, while shooting 60% from the field. One of the most impressive things to note about his performance thus far has been his tenacity on the offensive glass, averaging 3 offensive boards a game. Ben will be back in action tomorrow night when the Lakers take on the Rockets at 6pm.
Cedric Simmons also saw the court last night, in a game in which his Denver Nuggets lost in a close contest to the San Antonio spurs 76-78. Ced City put up 6 points (2-6 FG) and 6 rebounds in 14 minutes of play. The Nuggets play again tonight against the Wizards at 10:30pm.
Last night Brandon Costner didn't play in the Chicago Bulls 83-95 loss to the Warriors, and 4 other players received DNP's as well. It looks like the Bulls are taking the same approach that the Orlando Magic did in their summer league last week, where a group of players would see significant minutes one game and then rest the next, to give another group significant time. We also exchanged a few texts with Brandon and he told us that Julius Hodge didn't travel out to Vegas with the team. He said that he wasn't sure if they cut him or if he left the team. We'll try to find out more details on Julius. The Bulls play again tonight against the Bucks at 6pm.

30 seconds to go Big Ben put an inside out crossover on Mullens and finished with a reverse to put the game out of reach. Looked like a 2 Guard out there!

^He didn't say that he knew for sure that he was cut. He wasn't sure what happened, he just knew that he didn't go with the team to Vegas.
Damn, I don't understand why Jules cannot get on with anyone. I know he is more talented that probably 25-50% of the players in the NBA. I know he can't hit the broad side of a barn with his jumper, but you can't tell me he can't help some team coming off the bench.
where in the world is jules?
Big Ben is gonna be like the Birdman....
What's the update with hodge?
