Yesterday the FayObserver ran an article on NC State target Luke Cothron. Here is an excerpt from the article:
"Class of 2010 big man Luke Cothron continues to be a top target for many of college basketball's biggest programs with N.C. State trying to keep itself in the mix. Cothron, rated 37th among rising seniors by Rivals.com, measures 6-foot-9 and weighs 210 pounds and has wowed college coaches with his sturdy build, long arms and overall versatility.
A tenacious rebounder when he wants to be, Cothron also has a nice shooting stroke from the outside. A year ago, the athletic forward moved from Alabama and transferred to Flora Macdonald Academy in Red Springs where he played last winter as a junior.
Cothron solidified himself as a top-tier recruit with a pair of stellar outings for the Cougars against Raleigh's Word of God Academy, which featured star point guard John Wall (the No. 1 overall recruit in the Class of 2009) and C.J. Leslie, currently rated 13th in the 2010 class by Scout.
There is still, however, plenty at stake for Cothron this summer as he tries to answer questions about his hunger to compete year-round.
Cothron's list of suitors remains plenty long, Alabama figures to be high on the list as are Oklahoma, Mississippi State, Kansas and West Virginia.
Virginia Tech and Florida State are also on the radar.
N.C. State, meanwhile, may have a small secret weapon working in its favor if fellow 2010 recruit Ryan Harrow, one of Cothron's close friends and a Wolfpack commitment, can use his influence to steer Cothron towards Raleigh."
