I guess we can be the first. FWIW Ryan Harrow is playing at WOG right now and will be playing up at State later today.

I am 100% behind the team and will always be loyal to the Wolfpack basketball team but I just don't like the new jersey design-it’s just not NC State. I know (as some one pointed out earlier) that it was probably a function of compromise but I think it was a bad one.

It's a jersey and I'm not going to boycott watching them because of it but somehow it feels more than just a jersey. It would be like someone re-designing the flag into something that just feels un-American. To me, the jersey just feels un-wolfpack or un-NC STATE. This albeit small doesn’t help us gain back our identity.

Conversely, it would be interesting to see if our perspectives would shift if (with these jerseys) we started winning. Winning aside, there are some things I just can’t get use to. As an example, I remember when the Washington Bullets changed their name to the Washington Wizards. Don’t get me wrong, Harry Potter’s cool and all but please… the Wizards? Just shoot me. Time will tell if we grow use to the new design but something tells me, it will always be hard to stomach somehow. It’s just not NC State.

I will always support and watch the Wolfpack; they have my undying and loyal support and every player who wears NC State red has my 100% respect regardless of what the jerseys look like. GO STATE!

The new jersey's are a complete joke. I hope Sidney Lowe takes a look at them and gets rid of them because they are terrible. The uniform looks like it was made by 5th graders or something just does not look good. The logo is off center and I dont know its hard to explain but it would be a laughing stock of the ACC. I would love to have just standard STATE on the front and wear Red tops at home with red shorts and away games wear black shirts and black shorts. I think red and black would be awesome instead of that ugly white altogether. But I think the new jersey is a complete failure.

The schedule is ok, pretty much competition wise about the same as last year I would say. I do not see where this schedule is going to boost our RPI or anything like that. We are playing some of the bigger name schools but it is mostly ones that are in rebuilding mode. I would like to see Kansas, or Kentucky, or UCLA, or Arizona State, or Texas, teams like that atleast play 2 of them a year that would help your RPI and give us some ACC ready experience early.

Wolfpack Hoops, I think you should clarify that his playing at WOG is temporary-especially with the news that he was not (according to his mom) going to enroll there. Just a thought so a fire storm of ridiculous doesn't start on this thread.

Fantastic News Keep that guy as familiar with state as possible!!! Maybe he can teach Leslie a thing or 2 and make him want to join the action!!

Is he playing at the Dail? Too bad we can't go out and support him if so...

Regarding the jerseys: I'm getting used to them more and more each time I see them, but I still think that they look cheap, generic, and embarassing. I truthfully thought that we had the best jerseys in the conference previously, I can't see any reason that would warrant a change from those. But, no use whining about it, like has been stated before, if we win, nothing else matters.

Ryan is just playing pick-up games. Not enrolling.

This is great news. Thanks WPH. With the family member as HC at WOG, hopefully Ryan can make a few more trips to Raleigh and get more familiar with our current players. Logistically it should be possible for them to work out in the local gym as long as no coaches are present.

I'm sure it's not worth over speculating but Ryan Harrows family member is going to Coach CJ Leslie this year. Ryan Harrow is going to attend NC State and is in the elite category of PG's. (something Kentucky may not have next season in one John Wall).

We will probably be in the running for CJ till the very end (which might just be as long as late LOI season goes).

Zo, Harrow & Leslie would be at the top of practically every recruiting ranking.

WPH- If you or anyone catches Ryan while at State, I'd be curious to know if any of our freshmen are there too. It would be comforting to see those guys creating some bonds.

On the Jersey's , I guess I'll wait till I see them on TV. I don't much care as long as we play well.

Check out 6'4" DeMatha Sr. Victor Oladipo. He may be the most athletic senior in the nation and Oladipo has a 3.4 gpa.

i've already spoken my peace about the jerseys, lol. i'd like to know if the university is actually taking this seriously, i know that a number of people have been emailing the sports marketing and athletics departments in hopes to voice our concerns. this is their chance to show us if they really care about what we think or not so i'm curious to see what they're going to do.

I asked last week and never got an answer dut what happened with the Quincy Miller visit or did it happen at all? Also I've been looking at this Dwight Powell kid and he seems to be awesome on the court and in the class. I know we're going after CJ and Luke but this kid has an impressive resume. He's a little slim but he could be a Ed Davis type player which would be awesome around the boards if Zo, Mays, Ryan or wood ever misses. And get Sid up to Dematha to meet Quinn Cook everyone is jumping on this kid but it seems he woul really love to meet Sid. As for the uniforms all I care about is the score, and as far as the schedule goes no confrence is as tough as the ACC and I think we have a good schedule to prepare us. Just beat New Orleans, Marquette, and Florida, and I'm glad we're back in the ACC/Big Ten challenge.

I've never seen a fanbase so caught up in jerseys and football intro songs..Give me a top 3 ACC finish and an NCAA bid, and they can wear pink skirts for all I care.

I agree with big lefty, I dont care if they wear canadian tuxedos on the court as long as they play hard and win. Maybe the players love the jerseys, I read wear the golfer who just won the Wyndham (pga tourney in greensboro) doesnt have sponsers because he doesnt want to be restricted to playing with certian equipment and he can now mix and match clubs and balls, like calloway driver and titalists clubs. What i'm saying is that if the players are comfertable in the uni's then mybe they will play better

This is the real Eric, although the other has two ok posts. Any chance of getting an interview with Lorenzo Charles or Chris Washburn?

I just saw Washburn has two kids who are on the national recruiting radar and just joined Gilchrist in NJ to ball this year. Does NCSU keep in touch with these guys?

People are just going to have to get over the jerseys, a decision has been made. We are grown men obsessing over a change in fashion -- it's really probably more embarrassing than the jerseys could ever be. We'll forget they're new halfway through the season and we'll adore them should we sneak into the NCAA's.

GREAT news Harrow was on campus today. Hopefully he and Leslie were able to play some pick-up on two separate occasions this afternoon...

^ I'm with you guys. Although these aren't my favorite jerseys of all time...I don't really think they're going to lose us any games. Also, flat brim hats and over-sized sunglasses were the butt of a lot of jokes until sucessful people started wearing them. Could these jerseys be one NCAA tourny run from being the coolest jerseys NC State has ever worn?

Even if we won the Tourny with these jerseys, I would still think they looked like they were designed by a 5th grader...

Just to put the jerseys to rest, personal preference, I don't like a v-neck on anything. I will say that it's obvious that the depth of the V on the new jersey takes up much of the needed "billboard" space, and inturn it also force the lettering to be smaller and less prominent, as well as lower down on the chest.

I'm not exactly wild about them, but either way, they aren't going to make or break my season. That's my final word on the subject.

i don't like the jerseys... fans (students and season ticket holders) should have a vote on a couple different options, just as WPH did when they created t-shirts

I have heard most people say that they just want STATE on the jerseys because they think it would look better. I think they want that on there because it reminds them of great times when we were winning. I am one of the few that think that we need the NC on the jersey somewhere to distinguish ourselves from all the other STATES. Now it would be pretty cool to have those throwback type jerseys with just STATE on them when we play Duke, UNC, and Wake. That would be cool IMHO.

davispack, I'm sure there were others, but I don't really remember anyone else but the Wolfpack wearing just the word S-T-A-T-E on their jerseys back then. You can believe me though, back when we took the court with a BB program that actually merited it's own huge share media attention, there was no difficulty in telling who the Wolfpack of NC S-T-A-T-E were.

It was almost a trademark in those days. But once again, and like everything else, it 'has been' allowed to fade into obscurity, along with pretty much everything else about the BB program.

    RE Uniforms;
What was the players' response to them?

What has been the response of those around the team (players/coaches) to all of the criticism of the uniforms?
