C.J. Leslie Pulls Out of Kentucky 'Big Blue Madness'

There have been rumors flying around that top ranked 2010 NC State recruit C.J. Leslie, who was slated to be in Lexington, Kentucky for the Wildcat's 'Big Blue Madness' event, did not end up making the trip. Well, we can now confirm those rumors, but it is not yet known why Leslie decided against the visit.

This is a very interesting turn in C.J.'s recruitment, to say the least. With Leslie and UNC mutually parting ways this past week, many Kentucky fans felt as if they would receive a commitment this weekend. That does not appear to be the case. We do know for a fact that NC State and Kentucky were both, as of yesterday, still heavily in the mix. We are tracking this story very closely and will be reporting to you every step of the way. Stay tuned.

One of my good friends is a DIE HARD Kentucky fan. When I talked to him about this development, he said it's okay "we don't need him after the recruiting class this year." Kentucky fans are in AWE of this recruiting class...it's just too bad most ALL of them are 1 and done, in particular John Wall.
If Leslie commits with NC STATE he will come in with arguably the BEST PG recruit in the nation. It would not only be a great situation for him and helping his draft stock, but he would be seen as a hometown hero.
I'm not writing off this year, but the excitement building around next years recruiting class without Leslie is monumental to say the least. With his commitment it would be EPIC!!!

OMG. I'm actually starting to feel confident about Leslie to State...i hope i didnt' just jinx us, but c'mon. He nixted UNC and shamed Kentucky. He saw JOhn Wall's recruitment and thought, if John committed to state he would have been a savior in Raleigh. These fans are taking me for granted. I'm goign to decommit, throw myself at some big name programs and increase my stock...then when things heat up...i'll pop for State and be the king of Raleigh.

hey, maybe I'm being too optimistic, or maybe I know things you don't know. hmmmmm either way I like what i'm hearing.

good scoop WPH. I just wet my pants.

Anybody know anything about this blog? Check out this interesting comment

    - 2010 forward C.J. Leslie was expected at the event, but was not there; I have been told from an unverified source that there is more to this story and I am working hard to find out more. Let me say this – if this rumor is indeed true, the Big Blue Nation will be very surprised when they find out were Leslie was last night.

That's vague... nothing else follows the quote. Personally, I don't think there is much behind it. Maybe all this time he was in that helium balloon floating around Colorado... or better yet, hiding in the rafters of RBC during midnight madness... or maybe... it's a hoax.

In all seriousness, it is interesting.

I just read a sports radio page in kentucky that leslie will be in kentucky this afternoon. wasn't said as a fact, but said that the program expected him there later today for his visit.

anything could have happened in regards to Leslie not making his visit. Car problems, family time constraints, etc etc. Lets not all get overly happy until we know why. Just because he didn't the event doesn't mean kentucky is out of the picture. He could still visit today or some other week....I'm just trying to not get too excited over it. However I am confident that State is still strong with Leslie, I think the longer Leslie takes to decide the better our chances are. Since state is in the backyard we can build a better bond between the players and coach with Leslie and I think a early factor that will show Leslie's interest is if he attends the bball games.

^I'm with KarNCSU. It's good to know that the door is still open, but even that is not definite. All I want to know is that CJ Leslie is still giving our staff a fair opportunity to STATE their case. That's really all we ask for at this point.

Oh yeah, and CJ, we're all here, your family, your friends, and we love our BB in this neck of the woods MORE than anyone else out there. Why in the world would a local product, a kid from this area with it's rich BB tradition, want to take his talent elsewhere, and AWAY from the very people who want the opportunity to see him succeed the most???

I`m a big NCSTATE fan,Hey CJ where ever you go good luck and have fun. Thats is the most important factor, go where you feel is right for you, not others. This is a very important decision and all I can tell you to pray first and god will put you where you suppose to be. Good Luck CJ(The next Kevin Garnett)

What we can confirm is that CJ Leslie was on his way to Kentucky for Blue Madness, but decided he didn't want to go as he was driving through GA. He ended up hanging out in GA for the weekend with some friends from the Worldwide Renegades
