Fells, McCauley Solid at the P.I.T.

For Fells it was a second consecutive encouraging performance. Courtney dropped 13 points on 5-11 shooting while going 2-3 from beyond the arc. After leading his team in the first game, Fells was one off the leader in the second as his team took the 2 point victory. This is extremely good news for Courtney as NBA scouts, front office people and reps from overseas are littered throughout the gym.

Another familiar face was on hand at the P.I.T. last night, and that was our very own Ben McCauley. Big Ben teamed up with Tyrese Rice for the Portsmouth Sports Club who could not handle the onslaught put on by the Norfolk Naval Shipyard led by BJ Raymond of Xavier as they were taken out 89-65. McCauley did what he could as he poured in a steady 11 points and led his team in rebounds with 8. However, he only shot 5-15 and even did the unthinkable, hoisting 2 three pointers but missing both. However, Big Ben is who he is and at the end of the day a scout is going to see the skills, consistency and heart that this kid possesses and offer him a contract.

Don't move on to the next topic just yet, our boys are still alive in this tournament. Fells gets a day off and will be playing tomorrow at 2pm against his ex-teammate Big Ben, that is if McCauley and company can pull one off today when they take on the Norfolk Sports Club at 3:15pm.

We are very proud of the way Courtney and Ben are playing. They are not only representing our University well, they are also helping themselves get noticed and hopefully start a successful professional career. Good luck fellas, we're rooting for you!
