3 Scott Wood Video's From December

I know this game was in December, but we are going to take advantage of every time we come across a video of Scott, or any other recruit for that matter, that we haven't seen before. Marion lost to Lawrence North, a team that flirted with National rankings this season, 58-70, on December 12th. Scott had 33 points in the contest. Scott milked numerous treys from well beyond NBA range and call me crazy but I'm pretty sure he pulled up a few steps across half-court with ease.

Marion beat Howe on December 13th, 74-72, and Scott had 28 points. I love how Scott uses the glass on a regular basis and he seems to have mastered the Isaiah Thomas pull-up jumper in the lane.

This final video is from a victory over Kokomo on December 19th. Marion won 56-34 and Scott had 20 points.

Hope you enjoy!

By the way, we got to catch up with Scott last night and we will be posting the interview later today. It was great getting to know Scott a little bit. He is a young man who is extremely well-spoken and polite. When I asked him if he ever checks the site he told me that he checks it quite frequently along with his mom and dad and extended family. Give Scott a shout out!

GAWolf (too lazy to sign up): The kiss off the glass is a lost art... as is the pull up jumper. For lack of a better word: Throwbackesque. The kid looks good. Glad he's coming to run with the Pack.

handles the ball suprisingly well! i hadn't seen a video that really showcased that part of his game so it's good to see that. looking forward to hearing "Scott Wood!" over the loudspeaker after he drops a bomb on somebody.

We really believe Scott is going to be one of those guys that people kind of overlooked in this recruiting class. Theres been a lot of talk about Brown and Howell..and thats understandable, but this kid, we fell, is goign to be a big time talent.

    Think Ilian Evtimov type impact

Do you see how deep he was shooting from in the game against Lawrence North. I love that. No Conscious.

i like how they included his missed shots in the videos as well. even his missed shots were smart shots and that says a lot. he's not just throwing everything up there like a lot of kids do that have his scoring ability.

Jerzywolfpack (too lazy to sign up):

This kid is plain nasty. You can tell from the video the he has a lot of heart and loves the game of basketball. He is an extremely deadly outside shooter and also has a very nice touch near the hoop as well. His handle is also surprisingly good and he is not a one dimensional player(the kid is a baller) I already know he will be a very special wolfpack player, and will be one to be remembered for the years to come. I really cannot wait till you get here Mr. Wood!

Kid can stroke it! And he can handle the ball well. Put on 10-15pouinds, and we've got a real shooting threat out there!

Scott wood can plain score the basketball. . . this is what we are missing, players that can score around the perimeter. My mouth is watering over this recruiting class. . . even if we totally miss on wall i'm totally happy with the class Sid has put together.

PS. Dont get me wrong i want to see Wall suit up for us as much as anybody.

oh i cant wait, this kid can flat out burn the nets,i know brown and howell are our star recruits, but i am more excited about seeing scott suit up and ball. i personally believe he'll be the best shooter on the team next yr,i think he might just be the next rodney monroe for us.scott, i am extremely glad you chose to run with the pack, once you suit up and hit that court in the rbc amongst 17000 crazy fans you'll realize what a great decision you made, cause state fans are some of the most raucus in the country, and its been a while since we have really had something to get excited about.

got any %age stats on scott? (fg,ft,3p)?

the same cheerleader does a handspring after every freethrow.

ashley-eliz city the RBC Center seats 19,722. i know you weren't meaning to sell the building short, but that's a lot of fans you left out. ;) Scott, Lorenzo, Richard, and Josh are going to love playing in that arena for their college careers. It's nicer than some NBA arenas, and next year we are going to be getting HD video screens! I can't wait.

"got any %age stats on scott? (fg,ft,3p)?"

I don't know about this year, but Scott was hitting 48% of his 3pt attempts last year. That's pretty insane to be able to hit nearly 50% from 3 consistently. Some guys can hit 70+% of their 3s in a game, but they can't sustain that over an entire season. Anything over 40% is great fwiw. I think I remember seeing somewhere that Scott also hits like 88% or more on his FT attempts. His form is consistent and perfect, which is one reason why he's such a good shooter. Scott reminds me of JJ Redick in terms of his shooting ability.

According to Digital Sports Scott shot 55% from the field this year, 37% from deep range and 93% from the charity stripe. His 3PT% was a little down this year b/c he was playing the point. Coach Luce said he couldn't remember him getting a clean set shot from deep this year.
