PANGOS HERE WE COME!
Well folks, we are entering the home stretch for raising funds. What we honestly thought was impossible is close to happening. We are right now sitting around $550 and trying to get to at least $700, but more like $800, because it looks like we'll be needing to rent a car, as there are no hotels next to the gym where the games are played.
Here is a bit of good news. We have been in contact with Dinos Trigonis, who is running Pangos. It is a little late in the game to be asking for a press pass and getting all the necessary paperwork in, but we explained the situation, and we are now on the Media List, so we're all set on that front.
Next up is booking our trip. We're still waiting to get the necessary funds to book a flight, a hotel and a car for the weekend, but we're getting very close! We're looking all over the internet (Priceline, Expedia, Orbitz) to find the cheapest deal out there. You can be assured that we will be very respectful with you money. We won't be pulling any moves like staying in a 5 star hotel, or sitting by the pool sipping on a cold drink. We'll be working hard for you guys. It's amazing the way you pulled together and got this thing going...it's even more amazing how we're close to reaching our goal in not even 24 hours. Thanks again so much, everyone that has donated, and be sure to know that if this works out, Ryan, Mychal and Luke will all hear about how we got out to Cali.
We usually have up to 5 or 6 thousand visitors per day. We have received over 40 donations thus far, which is awesome! Anything can help, even .50 cents! Thanks again everyone and we hope you realize that you are such a huge part of what we are trying to do. Things like this can go a long way!! Thank You!

WPH - Just a question but could people donate like a Marriott rewards stay or Hilton to you guys?
Just wanted everyone to know this was my first time ever coming to the site , I heard about it from a friend and I just donated 5 bucks to the cause to get this awesome crew to California ! If I can donate 5 bucks being a first time reader of this site then I am sure we can get some guys to donate even if it's just 5 bucks or so. They are too close to their mark now of 700-800 to have to stay in NC let these guys go do what they do best! I am bookmarking this site because it is awesome! Go Pack !! Donate guys

Which airport you plan to fly to? It will take 2 transfers from RDU to Long Beach (LGB). What about fly to LA, then few hours drive to Long Beach?

WPH, If you think $5/month from your bloggers would help then I wouldn't mind donating that much. Is there any chance you could get an automatic draft going. I honestly think wolfpack basketball is at a pivotal point. IMO we missed out on j. wall and cj leslie will ultimately sign with unc because we are losing an entire generation of fans because of sendek basketball. It was boring to watch and mediocore at best. J walls mother was a supporter of coach lowe. We need a positive site like WPH. Wolfpack fans, if you can't donate $5/month then you should never ever complain about losing. Have you compared unc endowments to ncsu? Money talks. WPH get the automatic draft going!

sidestep/kayak is typically the best for flight searches. Priceline name your own price is almost always the best for rental cars and hotels. Start with a lowball offer then log out and log back in if they don't accept it. This typically will allow you to name your own price as many times as you want without waiting the 24 hour period to make another bid.

WPH, seems the AA miles won't work this time. I won't be able to purchase a fly for others using my miles. And it takes 3 days to transfer miles. One tranfer takes upto to 12,500 miles. For your trip, we will need 25,000 miles. The fee fee to tranfer is about half of the airfare ($360).
I always use price line for Hotels. Most time I can get 4 star for $40 in big cities (LA, Dallas, Chicago), or $30 for 3 star.

Be careful bout your time boss ,in socal a trip that should take 35 minutes can take couple of hours easy depending on time of day,traffic etc.
